No. It's loosely based on one of the anime, which was loosely based on the manga to begin with -  I'm not sure the school library exists, let alone the Magic World. And IIRC the show didn't even complete its run.
EDIT: Looks like Eva's first appearance made it in, but she's only blonde bright yellow in vampire mode for some reason.
tl;dr - Akamatsu's editors fell for it hard.

It did bring us this though.

Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

Who likes Shaman King?

Also, the Fate/Prototype OVA is... weird. Archetype Saber doesn't match the original design, and the Servants in general look kind of... punk? Plus, Command Spells appear on the chest and only function while exposed (lol female protagonist).
Oh, and the sub I watched was terrible.

Depends entirely on your preferences. "Manga" is as wide a topic as "novels". As a starting point, are there any manga you've read before and liked a lot, and what genres do you like? Starting from there, we could recommend works from similar genres and work from there.
Alternatively, one thing I used to do a lot some years ago is just randomly browsing for the slightest mention of things that sound interesting and then just checking out those things on a whim.

Agita said it all. Personally, it would help if you listed works in other mediums that you've enjoyed, which would give us hints to things you might like - anime and manga handle lots of things differently, so the stories themselves won't closely resemble what you're used to seeing and enjoying, but you might find the unique differences entertaining on their own.  :cool

Here's an example: if you liked Rocky, you might enjoy Hajime no Ippo, even though they're two completely different stories about boxing.  :P
Kami darou ga akuma darou ga, ore no michi ni tateru mono NASHI!!

Give me internets. Now.

Pick a genre, then tell us your favorite TV show or video game. We should be able to give you a good starting point.

A large part of it is looking around and finding something that sounds interesting. The manga market is full of oddball concepts that have gained a wild amount of popularity (back in the day, Dragon Ball Z was a strange take on the Shonen genre, and it's now one of the defining classics of the genre).

In lieu of a genre I'll just take the shotgun approach throw out a few that I found particularly gripping. :<

King of Thorn

Brief: Two twins, separated by fatal illness and a selective cure. Kasumi and her sister, Shizuku, were infected with the Medusa virus, which slowly turns the victim to stone. There is no cure, but of the two only Kasumi is selected to go into a sort of cryogenically frozen state along with 159 others until a cure is found. At some point in the undetermined future, Kasumi awakens to find herself and others who were in suspended animation in an unfamiliar world with violent monsters. Resolving to unlock the mysteries of her current situation and the fate of her twin sister, Kasumi struggles to survive in a treacherous world.

Genre: survival horror, mind fuck, ":<"

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

"This gentle calm and quiet is the twilight of an era.
I will probably watch the passing of this twilit age."

Brief: This is the story of Alpha Hasseno, an Alpha 7 M2 series robot. Left by her owner, she appears and acts fully human while running a small coffee shop named Cafe Alpha. It is a light-hearted story about the people Alpha comes into contact with behind the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic country-side in Japan.

Genre: calmpeacefulness (Coining that word effective immediatly :<), exploration, the ephemeral nature of life

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer

First two pages:

Brief: The world is in mortal peril. Sir Noi Crezant, the Lizard Knight, has been sent to gain the aid of the great warrior Amamiya Yuuhi in hopes of finding the Princess Samidare and protecting the planet from the incredible 'Biscuit Hammer' poised to crack the Earth in two. Unfortunately Yuuhi wants no part of it, and the Princess doesn't prove to be the shining 'hero of justice' role model that Noi had hoped for.

Genre: wtf?, awesome, badassery, what????, b'awww, comedy, and some ":<"

GitS' manga is a prequel to either the 1995 movie or the actual series IIRC.

It's independent of both the movie and show's timelines

Well, the genres I enjoy the most are adventure and horror, although sometimes I read sci-fi and action oriented. I also like bizarre- weird things oriented, comical novels and movies. I saw some chapters of naruto and one piece a long time ago, and they caught some of my attention.

I would have a look at code geass, sci-fi/action there. It is also one of the best anime I have ever had the pleasure of encountering

Horror/Bizzare try Madoka Magica.
