I have a problem with pacing. Sometimes I'll go, "Oh, I'll just watch one episode now" and when I realize it, it's one in the morning and I've watched a whole goddamn season.

It's... more pronounced with manga.

I hear yah, altough with me it's kinda the other way around.  If I try to read a new manga, I usually can finish it up relatively quickly (I still find myself awake at one in the morning tough), but if I try to watch the anime, then I'll end up wasting considerably more time. I'm a rather fast reader and spend just a few seconds per page, but you can't really speed up an anime.

That's why I try my best to keep anime to a minimum, despite knowing all the great series there's out there. I've followed Records of ATX, then Puella Magi, and now Fate/Zero.

Mind you, manga usually has the advantage of having considerably less filler (naruto/bleach/one piece, looking at you).

Just what are you people reading anyway?

Besides the sudo-porn, any good? I need a show to watch on Sundays when I get home to unwind.

Oh, quite good if you ask me. It's basically a parody of martial arts manga (hell if Sakaki isn't a Kenshio expy, minus willingess to kill), yet manages to keep serious as the main character Kenichi, initially a school weakling, is introduced to the world of manga-fu. Rivarlies, hotbloodness by spades, martial honor, badass grandpa, and a mind-controling alien supreme commander Nijima combine for a for a suprisingly good story!

Altough yes, that last part was kinda disturbing, but I guess it was to show just how much of a CE bastard a certain character is.

Yeah, like I said earlier, it manages to make fun of martial arts tropes without crossing the line into parody.  And watching Kenichi slowly grow up into a genuine badass has been a fun ride.  These last few chapters have kind of pissed me off, but I guess it was time the stakes got upped a little.

There are certainly better reads out there, but it's high on my list of favorites.

Another really good series for martial arts is The Breaker - I highly recommend it.

Danbooru has ads? ;)

Danbooru has some decent character images on it if you're willing to look at nudy pics. You're on the Internet so I'm going to assume you do so have an example.

Well, if you quote the post to see the img url that failed to load you can copy it directly - it's not hotlinking if you're typing the address directly into your browser.

Thusly...
