That's actually rather good to know. Honestly wish I could support the protest myself, but there's very little I can actually do.

I felt a similar way about all that SOPA stuff.

It does bode well for there being a sequel to Negima.

Why did Negima! ended the way it did? Check this out.
I didn't know Disney had a company in Japan.

So what exactly is the Tokyo Child Protection Law that's mentioned several times in the article? Is that the one that got Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt canceled?

Its the law that basically says that nudity and sexual content in manga is harmful to children, therefore outlaw such in manga. IIRC

There aren't enough emoticons, gifs or JPGs to express how much facepalming there is to be had at this statement.

God fucking dammit. And here I thought the JAPANESE of all people would know the value of recognizing manga as a medium rather than mere child entertainment.

Japan is on the surface far more straitlaced than you'd imagine from their most popular industry overseas. From what I gather, their leaders, elders etc, hate the idea of being famous for 'kid entertainment' and weird porn.

They're trying to 'fix' it.

If it ain't broke, then don't fix it, dammit.

Looks like I'll have to stop by the Japanese congress if I ever go there.

I know I started a lame parody theme but I simply haven't had much material to work with and I've been busy wondering if fanfics on Bleach are better than the manga.

Anyway, bets on Ichigo possible getting power drained again and...
A. Gets Qunicy powers, because he needs every power ever.
B. His fullbring back, because the manga fillar had to be of use right?
C. His hollow reawakens and he masters his resurrection, fans love the mask and Tite wouldn't turn his back right?
D. Ichigo, fuck all else, Getsugas the BBEGs away after bleeding forty galleons of blood.

alright so i recently found this manga called Oyasumi punpun  .  If you finish this manga you are a hero to me. Thats how depressing this manga is.  As for a synopsis, tvtropes said it better than i could :

"Take a poorly-drawn cartoon bird who never speaks, a broken family, an afro-clad 'god', mentally troubled children, outright insane adults, a large dose of surrealism as well as realism, and a soul-crushing amount of cynicism and you have Oyasumi Pungpung.
Oyasumi Pungpung ("Goodnight, Pungpung") is a supremely bizarre Seinen manga by Inio Asano about the title character, Pungpung. Pungpung is young, innocent, and naive child, who, in some kind of strange stylistic choice, is depicted as a simplistic sketch of a bird despite everyone outside of his family looking like a normal human. He has no real dreams, his father is an abusive deadbeat (at least, he appears to be), and his mother is a drunk who regrets having him, but Pungpung has one thing: a pretty girl named Aiko whom he fawns over. Well, her, and an afro'd and slightly useless god he can summon by chanting 'Dear God, dear God, tinkle-tinkle hoy!'
The story begins as Slice of Life comedy, following Pungpung through his childhood as he deals with his family life, his school life, his social life, and his budding romantic life. While noticeably dark, it also contains a hint of child-like innocence. However, as the series progresses, it develops into an extremely dark Coming of Age story, with all innocence being wiped away. While the humor remains, it takes a backseat to experiences of Pungpung, his family, and his acquaintances as they deal with the hardships of adolescence, adulthood, and life in general."

Despite eating away at your very soul when you read it,  in the chapters i read i found this manga to be very very good. Its very poignant and realistic in its treatment of depression and life in general.
Please, call me Count :).

So, the animated adaptation of Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden... has anyone watched it?
(the SD stands for Super Determined)

EDIT: Medaka Box ep1
Did Haruhi just beat up Kamina? :huh

I hear this series gets really different over time. Editors forced the creator to keep making it more shonen, like some kind of bizarro Negima. Plus it deconstructs the idea of Mary Sues.

EDIT: Fate/Zero is back on the air! ...sort of. Fate/Zero: Onegai! is, which is basically a proto Tiger Dojo.

EDIT: TAMUSIC Madoka remix album

Onegai 1 has some interesting notes on the first three Grail Wars that weren't widely known before, I believe.

F/Z 14 is out now.

Was Caster this awesome in the original novels too?

Speaking of Lovecraftian love, ep1 of Haiyoru! Nyarlko-san is out (comedy: Genki girl Nyarlathotep fights crime)

In how many other anime do you see characters talk about losing SAN points?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kyon made a quip about it.

The novel was much more graphic about caster/ryuunosuke. It looks like the censors are being a little heavier this season too.
