Chapter 1: Introductions - An Arcane Heirophant Did It!

Three strange bug-like creatures emerge from portals next to Calder, Ijol, and Lynn.  The dragon seizes the moment's distraction to attack Lynn.  It's crystalline teeth and claws flash in and out - easily find openings in her defenses, but are impeded in their deadly mission by her incredibly tough hide.

The clearly wounded and bleeding hawk strikes out with a claw that Ijol furiously knocks aside with his own bleeding appendage.  The gargoyle creature knocks an arrow and pierces Ijol's hip from behind.  It's second shot narrowly misses his head.

Calder, Ijol, and Lynn get an attack of opportunity.

One latches onto Calder's back.  One latches onto to Ijol's neck, and the one attaches to Lynn's left thigh.  All three plunge their needle-like proboscides into their respective victims and begin sucking.

Calder groans, in pain and exhaustion as well as being done with the nonstop onslaught of new creatures to both adapt to and dodge. He fires an arrows as the tiny thing launches itself at him, but it easily dodges the projectile and latches onto his back.

He breathes out his exasperation as he takes aim at the bugs attached to Ijol and Lynn. They seem to be priority at the moment, since who knows what madness these things could inflict?

He turns his attention to the bird-like creatures swarming where Aine recently was.

Let's roll with this again:

I want to get at least one attack on each of the two bugs attached to Ijol and Lynn, respectively. If they're still alive, third attack goes to Lynn's bug; if they're dead, third attack goes to the "hawk" I apparently hit earlier, since I can't attack the bug on my own back (assuming it has total cover from me given its position).

If possible, I'll also try a Nature check against the hawks: 16

The first arrow strikes the bug on Ijol, and it explodes in a shower of ichor and blood.  The second arrow pierces the bug on Lynn through the head.  It lols back bouncing while its claws stay locked on for a second before it falls to the ground.  The third arrow slams through the back of the wounded hawk attacking Ijol, and it falls over dead.

Ijol nods in thanks to Calder and lets loose with a barrage of his own to return the favor.  He is looking in perfect health, although physically somewhat weaker than he was before the battle started.

Full-round action, three spikes.  Starting with attacking the bug, moving to the dragon once the bug is dead.

Now once again physical, and grumbling over the injury that did get through, Aine once again summons forth a cloud of ghostly butterflies... making a brave effort to look like one large one, even if the space they occupy is a bit difficult for that.

Law of Mortality - Dead Butterfly. As a swarm, it can occupy any 4 contiguous squares, so now we're playing tetris on the map.

You must be on the ground to use this maneuver. You slam the ground and unleash a wave of jumping balls of fire that affect all under or within a line of up to 40 feet plus 10 ft per IL length, 5 ft width, and up to 2000 ft height. Victim are tripped take damage equal to a Climb check from you, half this damage is fire and the other half is bludgeoning. Flying victims crash to the ground below. A reflex save halves the damage and negates the trip, but not the falling.

Fiery rocks pummel the crystalline dragon - twisting it about and knocking it into the ground.  You notice no burn marks on its scales.  While the dragon gathers itself, the unmoving gargoyle creature shakes off its paralysis.  It flies to the south and joins its companion in shooting at Calder.  He takes an arrow in his right arm.

Gargoyle one nat 20 no crit 11-5= 6 dmg

The dragon picks itself up from the ground in the midst of the fluttering butterflies.  It smiles at you with its jagged crystalline teeth, and then draws back its neck, and opens its mouth wide.  A swirling ball of iridescent light dances and spins in front of the monster's gaping maw for a moment before it explodes out in coruscating rays that cut right through your body and overwhelm your vision.

The sound of another another portal opening in the west is accompanied by a strange grinding noise, a whoosh, and then a crash as a rocky ball of magma slams into Ijol.

Neither the Oni attack nor the breath weapon beat the incorporeality of the swarm so I think it should still be up.

Calder's instincts kick in; this dragon evokes some level of inherent familiarity as the giant's blood begins to bubble. He throws up his arm and turns to shield himself against the full brunt of the blinding light, then rushes to take partial cover behind the table.

He ignores the mild wound done by the gargoyle's projectile and wreathes his bow in electrical energy yet again, lines up his shot, and looses an arrow at the dragon.

Negative energy: 4 damage to enemies within the swarm. DC 21 for save at beginning of turn or be nauseated.

Full attack at dragon; Royal Touch is a touch attack (being projected as a 30' thrown attack, but probably still touch AC); hitting AC 31 and 38 for 15 and 16 damage.

The dragon is genuinely surprised by the little faerie's mystical assault.

Lynn licks her numerous wounds in a flurry of motion and they all seal leaving her skin in pristine condition. She tumbles over near Ijol to provide support, a bit wary of the dragon and choosing not to engage it until her sight returns.

The first hawk recovers from paralysis and streaks toward Aine, but she easily dodges its claw attack.  The crystal dragon moves to flank Aine and snaps out at her, but its razor sharp teeth only gnash the air.

The magma dripping rocky creature turns and slams Lynn with a mighty fist.

A small but ferocious grey colored dragon emerges from a portal and attacks Ijol with particularly nasty bite and claws attempting to knock him down, and the two gargoyles fire their bows.

Calder lines up more shots as his wounds slowly begin to recover. He steps closer to the summoner before loosing his arrows. With the previous dragon blocked slightly by other monsters flying in front of it, the giant focuses on the newly-arrived gray dragon that savaged Ijol. His first shot is shaky, the battle clearly starting to undermine his endurance. Breathing out slowly, he lets out the next two with practiced efficiency.

Calder's first shot clatters off the grey dragon's tail.  His second and third shots sink deeply into the dragon's neck causing horrible wounds.  The dragon's body is wracked with electricity and its muscles spasm inhibiting its movement.

On hit, 1 bleed damage and 5 feet reduced speed to target (stacks per attack) plus Reflex DC 25 or be slowed for one round (one save per round).

I heal 10% of the damage dealt with physical attacks.

I then make a tumble check vs the rock guy (auto-passes) and a tumble check vs the dragon if it is still alive (DC 17, rolled 16 so it gets an AoO if it isn't dead) and burrow down into the ground.
