Non-magical healing can be had with the alchemical Healing Salve from Lords of Darkness.  Oddly, Craft (alchemy) doesn't actually require spellcasting... but every alchemy item in the table under the craft skill description that can be made with alchemy has the footnote "1" that requires spellcasting to make those items.  (RAW vs RAI)  I hate spending money for healing though...

In the Special: section of the Craft skill description it says:

"To make an item using Craft (alchemy), you must have alchemical
equipment and be a spellcaster." PHB. Pg 71. Right hand column, top of page.

So, you do by both text and table, require Spellcasting to be able use the skill. So in a no magic campaign Craft (Alchemy) is pretty much useless.

Darn, I forgot that part.  Thanks for the catch.

I could see a DM house ruling that requirement out in a campaign such as his.

Hmm. If you can take spellcasting classes but don't get any magical abilities until later, totally take a druid with the Wild Cohort feat. Stand back and shoot things with arrows while your pets eat face.

And you can do the commoner-cow trick, too.

Swift Hunter is a feat that allows Ranger and Scout levels to stack for purposes of Skirmish, among other things.  Coupled with Greater Manyshot (from the XPH,) it can lead to a mobile ranged combatant who can dish out impressive damage.

My recommendation?  Whisper Gnome Ranger/Scout with Swift Hunter and Darkstalker.  The nice thing about no magic is that enemies are going to have a REALLY hard time detecting an optimized stealth character with Darkstalker.
