Natural Attacks & attacking with both claws
« on: January 30, 2012, 10:20:11 PM »
My character recently got turned into a Spectre.  1 claw attack, though a good one.

What if I wanted to attack with both hands?  Up till now, I've been treating it like attacking with 2 weapons (light weapons) for a -4/-8 penalty.  But natural attacks are different.  How should I handle it?

Typical spectres don't have claws, they have an incorporeal touch attack.  Incorporeal touch attacks do not work like claws - typically, only one incorporeal touch attack can be made per round as a standard action no matter what your BAB or feats are.

If you had two claws, and they were your primary natural weapon, then you're make two attacks as a full round action at your full BAB (no penalty).  You do not gain extra claw attacks for having a high BAB, nor for two-weapon fighting.  If you use another weapon with the claws during the full attack (such as an unarmed attack), then the claws become secondary attacks and are made at -5.  You may only attack with a claw that isn't holding something (so only one claw if you've got a sword in the other hand).
