Lawful Good.  Probably cuz of how I answered the "family" portion.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Yep, still chaotic neutral.

I came up as Neutral Good.  I don't actively try to give laws the middle finger, but at the same time I know lots of laws are just plain stupid and not worth being followed.

I did it before years ago and got NG, but now I got TN. I don't really mind.

LG, but I see myself as NG. But LG is probably closer to the truth anyway.

I got Lawful Neutral, which doesn't surprise me in a lot of ways, although the parts that look like they're determining the Law-Chaos spectrum seem really contrived. I'm sure I answered "chaotic" on several.

A lot of the questions really needed a fifth answer. I probably picked a "close enough" answer on a quarter of the questions.

I got the Hero Builder's Guidebook in my hot little hands (worst purchasing decision I made aside from buying the Encyclopedia to Demons & Devils).

Basically, you score Lawful points for trusting authority and obeying the voice of community leaders.  People who distrust the government or don't get along with family elders lean more towards the Chaotic side.  The "revolutionary political opinion" question gives you Chaotic points if you choose one of the first two answers.  Effectively, this makes most Americans Chaotic.

Also, holding up monogamy as an ideal is Lawful, while more casual relationships are Chaotic.

Spying for a foreign power is Chaotic, somehow.  What if you live in a Chaotic Evil nation like the Empire of Iuz, and were payed by a Lawful Good government?

Also, the famine question gives you Evil points if you steal food to survive.

You get Evil points if you say that the best use of wealth is to stay on top of the heap.  This makes capitalism and Randian Objectivism Evil.

I scored Neutral Good when I took this test during my middle school years, when I didn't consider the possible negative repercussions of crusading against tyranny.  I was more zealous and opinionated during these years, and I desperately wanted to fix problems I saw in society right now. I guess my loss of idealism tempered me alignment-wise.  :(

Well yes, Evil (as opposed to evil) is based on selfishness, and Evil characters are capable of being decent people. All the more reason radar paladins are dumb.

Blurring the lines with Real Life = uh-oh. But hey why not?

Santa Claus is Lawful Neutral Evil (archeron).
He uses greed to get the children to behave.
And even if they don't, he gives them coal
to be warm in winter, so they survive, to be tempted again.
But otherwise he makes a good neighbor and keeps to himself.
Somewhat abusive of Gnomes (short elves),
but they seem to like him, or so the story goes.

That's not me at all.
Not even my kitty avatar.

Your codpiece is a mimic.

I'm not sure that game designers are equipped with any special moral insights. They're certainly not qualified to morally evaluate others, which is why I don't experience any great surprise that I scan as "Chaotic Evil" to this low-tech tool.

It appears, in particular, to lack any notion of the concepts of "agency" and "humanity" with respect to moral imperatives, which is why it rather dimwittedly regards self-sacrifice, sharing of resources, and obedience as objective moral goods.

Essentially, this is a regurgitation of the Judeo-christian ethic, a system that has consistently turned everything it touched to shit. I'm not impressed.

As opposed to? The only real moral systems that don't view self-sacrifice and sharing of resources as at least positively are classically liberal systems which basically boil down to a cult of self. Also almost all the obedience questions relate to law versus chaos not good versus evil, owning the book from which this test comes the only one that is even slightly obedience oriented which can give you evil points is the "do you betray people for personal gain" ones.

Neutral. I'm moderately nice to people but not excessively, place friends and family over people in general to some extent, and have a decent sense of duty and respect but do not blindly obey my government and family. It seems.

My paladin character, luckily, tests as Lawful Good.
