Screw that!  Garlic ice cream!  I'm working on a recipe for it.  I'm hesitant to try though, since my blueberry/raspberry ice creams are freaking amazing already.  I'm thinking I'll candie it maybe?  To do that, I'll coat it in a brown sugar/butter batter and bake it.  It'll be whole cloves, and they'll be crunchy bits in the ice cream, kinda like nuts, only soft.  Otherwise, I'll puree it, cook it into the cream.

(and I use garlic with seafood.  I use garlic with EVERYTHING possible.)

The best way to cook a lot of green vegetables is just to stir fry them with some freshly minced garlic and a bit of salt. This works for broccoli, bok choy, and a lot of other things with similarly "strong" flavors.

Hmm... do we have a thread/forum devoted to cooking?  :cake

Share your musings on this wonderful aspect of life, whether you like cooking, eating, or both!

One thing I've been thinking of making soon is garlic ice cream.  I love garlic a LOT, and so I thought this would be a logical end to it.

We went in with another family to buy a grass-fed beef, and wow are the steaks from that amazing... They practically melt in your mouth. Definitely a noticeable improvement from the stuff you buy at the supermarket. The hamburgers however are another story. I think there isn't enough fat to make the flavor as good.

I'd agree for the really leafy stuff, but for broccoli you can get away with just steaming it and putting salt and butter on it.  If you want, you can include garlic in the butter.  Steaming leafy stuff like spinach, though, can quickly turn into a game of disentangle the stringy, green stuff from your steamer basket.

Yeah, you can get away with it, but it's better with garlic. :D (I think garlic ice-cream might be taking things too far, though. :P )

I tried it one time, and I must say: make sure you bake it long enough!  And that there's enough sugar so that it won't come out only slightly candied.

One of the best things for garlic is brussell sprouts everyone's most loathed vegetable.  Get some young sprouts, cut them in half, fry them in a little garlic oil with finely shopped garlic, pepper and pine nuts and they are absolutely delicious - cruncy, peppery, and bitter-sweet mmmm

I just don't have enough pine nuts around the house, but those are two of the most underrated foodstuffs I've ever encountered.

On the brussel sprout trend, I really like to roast them whole.  With button onions.  And/or carrots/parsnips.  Developing the sugars in vegetables are a sure way to make them delicious, and the root veggies like carrots, parsnips, onions, etc. are just great for low heat/long time situations.

The brussels sprouts thing is very true -- my wife makes AMAZING brussels sprouts.  Just buy one of those steamfresh brussels sprouts, cook them most of the way in the microwave, cut them in half, and caramelize them with garlic, onions, parmesan, and lemon.

Sooo, soo good.

What kind?  I believe I remember that you're a big fan of hot sauces?

Oh!  Great burger: bun/peanut butter/burger/sauteed jalapenos with garlic powder/cheddar cheese

Whenever I make burgers, I usually go with chuck or sirloin 80/20, and use worchestershire worked into the meat.  Doesn't take much else, and the turn out fantastic.
