A classic and probably my favorite thread of all time. It's right up there with the uranium katana thread.
Can elves wield greatswords?
Oh, I
forgot about that one! I seem to remember Vestigial Thumb being rather crude in there, and the thing devolving into werewolves and dwarves (or was it orcs?) being more manly than elves and vampires, and it being impossible for the first two to wield a rapier and impossible for the last two to wield a greatsword. So, a dwarf (orc?) werewolf would be the epitome of manliness, and elven vampires would be the opposite. That thread was further made funny by someone replying to the OP 11 pages in without looking at the current topic. So, amid the discussion of elves, werewolves, and the nature of manliness, there'd be a lone post along the lines of "Of course an elf can wield a greatsword! What kind of stupid question is this? What's next? Can gnomes wield greatswords?"
I'm also rather fond of the Fluffy vs Steve thread (I wrote a program to simulate this!) and the weapon thread where people photoshopped a bunch of stupid weapons (three daggers on a stick for 3d4 damage, or two greatsword blades on one handle for 4d6 damage).
Lol. 2007 was a good year!
