That's less "wild shape" and more "tame shape".

"I'm a 'tame shape' druid... I can turn into any creature that can wear a wool sweater and moccasins and read the Sunday paper with reading glasses while drinking Earl Grey."

But you guys have no tier 1 classes anymore, which is unusual for my games. :)

Kara just kills things outright, which could be considered a debuff.
Hmm.

Legion doesn't really fit the leader role in many ways... he is a "man" out of place, and out of time. So I was waiting for someone else to decide what to do next. :p

Option A - Check if we missed a path.
Option B - Go straight back to town and use the library.

I lean towards B myself.
Hmm.

Well... there is that crazy-assed room with the frozen lake... Isn't it really weird that this runestone isn't in there, but is instead stuck back in a corner, guarded only by some mushrooms and bugs?

I wouldn't be surprised if we go back there later when we're better able to deal with the magic that's making the ice.

Speaking of which, didn't I make a Spellcraft check or something to figure out what was going on with that? Did anything come of that?

Ah! Found it.

When we come back, I'd like to take a closer look at it. Maybe make a proper Spellcraft check with Detect Magic.

I think the breath weapons' Snowy and I have did OK in dealing with the ice itself. This place is pretty out of the way, up above the snowline, etc. Who knows if we'll make it back up here?

I'm just afraid we're going to walk into the lair of an ancient white dragon or something. Or just have the thing freeze down around us. It just feels like shmuck bait to me at this stage, at least if we're going to walk in blindly.

I think SirP would give us more of a warning before he TPK'd us.  :p Maybe that's metagaming too much, but still...

Q&A:

1. Can you figure out what's causing the effect?  Yes, with some good rolls.
2. Can you get to it/get it?  Yes, with some ingenuity, though it's dangerous at this level.
3. Is it cool?  Yes.
4. Is it necessary? Not right now.
5. Will it still be here when you get back?  Given that no one else knows about this place, and the ice keeps pretty much everything out that isn't actively trying to get in (and has the resources to do it)... probably.  :)

How far can an incorporeal creature get through the ice?

Nice idea!  However, I think the ice counts as a solid object, right?  So it could only go in 5 feet or so...

Actually, it has to stay adjacent to the object's exterior. Still assuming that the whole ice cavern counts as a single block of ice, could it still pass along the ice's edge that borders with the cavern walls/floors?

Awesomative. We should be able to scout about 800 feet in, give or take (unless there's something faster than an eagle in the Sonorous range). That should be enough to get a good idea of what's in there.

OK G, can you give me two Spellcraft rolls, as well as a Knowledge Arcana and a Knowledge Nature?

25, 15, 26, 20, respectively, if I'm rolling. See the roll post about taking 10 and which checks may be buffed.
