After noticing that huge amount of frozen water, Snowy runs back to the group in a hurry, keeping a low profile next to Legion.

Gilgrim thinks a bit about the frozen lake.

Gilgrim is... not so sure.

As Snowy backs away, you can all see the tunnel in the ice begin to refreeze and fill up again.

Sorrel shall share a newfound curiosity alongside Gilgrim. Not that this day hasn't been filled with them already.

Knowledge (anything but psionics), add another +3 if arcana or local 1d20+5 : 14 + 5, total 19

This dice roll has been tampered with!

Know:Arc tells you that clearly there's some kind of coldness spell keeping the chamber with the lake frozen.

Legion says "How odd. If we are to enter this chamber, we will need to leave some kind of mark of our passage. Otherwise, we will have a hard time finding our way out I fear. What about a rope? Does anyone have one?"

"There's one in Boon's pack. Help yourself." the halfling says, keeping her distance from the cold area.
Hmm.

Nora'Luuu breaks his silence, looking along the paths that branch out from this one. Shrieks from one end, and ancient dead along the other. To the front, a wall of ice that mends itself. The weasel creature half-scampers to look down the corridor with the shrieks.

He draws his longsword again, and sees who will join him on this 'epic crusade'.

Seeing their new companion draw his blade and scamper, Isaac can't help but smile. But things needed doing, and at least there was an initiative in this one. He trusted him more in thos forsaken place, anyway. "I'm following this one," indicating towards Nora'Luuu. Blade in hand, he cracks his fingers and stretches his hands before following.

Kara follows, wondering if what was shrieking was dead or alive.

The fluffy kitty follows the trail of the person leading in front of said person by a foot or so, prepared to breath at anything suspicious and/or dangerous.

As you head down the narrow passage, the intermittent shrieking persists (sounding very similar to the fungus from a few minutes ago).  Eventually, the passage exits into a large cave with some rocky columns scattered around.  Your light and heat sources produce a new round of shrieks from the 6 large fungi growing on one side of the path.  You can see a soft glow from the far end of the cavern, where the narrow passageway continues.

Nora'Luuu may be young, but he's not stupid. The last time these... whatever they were... shrieked like that, centipedes the likes of which he's never seen before were spawned into this world, hungry and angered at their awakening.

He gives a quick look-see to see if any have been awakened into this world yet, while giving the air a quick series of sniffs... dank stone, unwashed flesh, giant mushrooms...

Nora'Luuu's ears perk up in that adorable way that ferocious predators perk their ears when listening for prey. He holds up a paw, as though to tell everyone behind him to hold on... or to prepare to signal an attack against that DAMN SHRIEKING THING!! It almost drove him mad, that shrill shriek! How could something that didn't breath shriek like that?! What was worse was everytime that he THOUGHT about it, he didn't know what to call them in his head... I mean, what DO you name a giant shrieking... mushroom... thing?

((SDK we now have a Die Rolls thread))

Kara and Nora'luu both notice that the two "different" fungi aren't shrieking either.

Nora'Luuu backpedals until he's lined up with Kara, then motions to a shrieking mushroom, then one of the quieter ones.

(click to show/hide)

The weasel narrowed his eyes towards the trecherous fungi.

Legion says "Let's burn them before they draw more enemies with all that noise." and walks towards the nearest one with his mouth open, where a small finger of blue flame can be seen in the dimness.

When the lumbering monstrosity made its way towards them, mouth open and aflame, Nora'Luuu just stepped aside, though he still brandished his longsword. It wasn't a direct threat but Nora'Luuu sure didn't want this monster to think, for a minute, that he was afraid of it.
