Legion leads the party toward the exit of the chamber, which glows invitingly.  After a short trip through another narrow passage, the glow brightens and you arrive in a medium-sized room that has been shaped into a near-perfect circle.  At the center of the room is a pedestal, atop which sits a trapezoidal stone inlaid with green enamel.  The stone is lit from above by an opening as wide as a clenched fist, which focuses a beam of sunlight on the pedestal.

"Give me a couple minutes. My pa told me about rooms like this." Kara says, entering the room. She examines the pedastal and the surrounding area.

Kara goes over the entire room with a fine-toothed comb, and finds nothing but centuries of dust.  And the pedestal & stone, of course.

Nora'Luuu determines that he's done eating things that don't have faces.

As the group investigated the circular room with the inlaid stone, and something deep in his bonecage tells him...

Kara frowned. "Must not be very valuable. There's nothing I can see in this room that can kill us. Oh well. We'd better take it anyway just to have something to show for this trip."
Hmm.

Legion shrugs, walks over, and picks up the gem.

((Note that it isn't a gem -- it's a big trapezoidal stone like the one that Khatyan was carrying.))

Legion approaches, and as he reaches for the stone, he feels a certain...reluctance to move it from its place.

((Will save DC 14 to remove the stone.))

Shaking off the momentary aversion, Legion picks up the stone, feeling the familiar weight, so similar to the other one.

After comparing the two stones for a moment, Legion says "These seem to fit together like a children's toy... A puzzle, I believe it is called." He demonstrates by trying to insert the tab on one side of the new stone into the slot of the other one.

The two stones fit very nicely, though they come apart again when Legion is not actively trying to hold them together.  The combined figure looks like about 1/3 of a hexagon.

Nora'Luuu returned his dagger to its leather hip sheath as he gives her a nod in return, which is more like an entire head bob then a simple nod.

Not comprehending the conversation, Legion interrupts "I believe we should try to learn more about the purpose of these stones before we gather more of them.

These stones are ancient... and many things from the ancient times are best left alone. Back then, there were great powers, but they were terrible. Your modern world seems comparably happy and peaceful, if simple, from what I've seen of it so far. I do not believe we should go meddling with ancient things which we do not understand. You were lucky when you reactivated me that I had been... changed... over the years, in a benevolent way. Some other ancient things I assure you will not be benevolent if awakened, and their powers would be such that little in this world could stand before them, I fear.

These stones seem to have been scattered on purpose, and hidden away. I expect there may be a good reason for that. Look at what happened to Khatyan when he started digging them up."

Kara hears Legion's speech and gives a look of disapproval.
"But ancient things are the most valuable." she says, genuinely excited. "And also, it would be neat to see what they do. Maybe they're an ultra-secret spell a Wizard would pay a fortune for. Come on. What's the worst that could happen."
Hmm.

Legion says "Don't you remember what was written on the back of the first stone? Something about the coming of Woe, and the dead walking. And I myself remember... terrible things..."

Nora'Luuu didn't want to truly interrupt a conversation who's beginning he may not have been privy too, so instead he just turned his attention back and forth between each speaker, seeming to listen and watching as they gestured and moved. Kara, the one he was just speaking with, seemed genuinely excited, while Legion seemed like a construct built of madness by the trembling hands of doomsayers.

He knew a few words of the Man Speak, but not enough to fully catch up with the conversation. Something about woe and consequence. Man Speak... So vague.
