Alvin looks up from the hovering knife, "A pleasure to meet you, Sir Legion, He hesitates a moment, this man must be their leader. He is older, that looks to be knight's armor, and he preserves his authority by remaining slightly apart during the meal. Sorrel seems to accept his leadership so I'd better ask him how all this came about. Always go through proper channels, that's what father says. if it would not be untoward to ask, how did you, Kara, Sorrel, and your other companions, stealing a glance at Nora'Luuu, come to be dining together here? I understand you have been away from town these few days?"

The door is noisily bounced inward on its hinges, followed swiftly and jauntily by a well... giant flaming mop of red hair. You see, after recovering from the eye-searing color, a rather sharp featured individual, in several layers of dusty, dirty, dilapidated, dreary clothing sweep toward the bar.
Speaking with some sort of screaching squeek of a voice, the carrot-to... the human male says, “‘Ey, barkeep, that need that good stuff for my,” the man stops for a moment to cough horribly, “... my throat. ‘ou know, that nice bottle of golden honey.”

After satisfying the barkeep with actual coin this time, you see the man trying to drink the heavy golden liquid, cough, and look around the room. Sidling over, while spluttering through the rather strong effect of the drink, to closet unoccupied seat to your group, he says, “ Ey, here’s a spot for me. Don’t mind my coughing this here golden goodness will clear it up.” This he manages with far less squeek, “Call me Kheldar,” but ruins the effect with a sudden hiccup.

Alvin eyes the new arrival, it is frightfully bad manners to invite yourself to sit at another's table like that. Still, it isn't my place to tell him off, it's not my table either after all. Perhaps he's a friend of theirs. He remains silent, watching for the others' reactions.

Kara shook her head at the newcomer, tensing up just a bit. Her father seldom drank, but when he did he was often violent, throwing silverware at those he disagreed with. "Apparently the stones are attracting drunks now too."
Hmm.

Legion says menacingly "Shove off, or you'll have more to worry about than your cough..." to the drunk

Isaac kept himself quiet, but the hand that wasnt on his mug was casually hanging from his belt, close to his short sword..

Nora'Luuu adds something of a menacing growl to Legion's menacing tone, but it's hard to take something so small and cute as menacing.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that what was a chicken leg to most was a turkey leg to him. Or maybe it was the hiccup that hit directly in the midst of the growl...
In either respect, Nora'Luuu quickly turns his attention back to the food before him, silently wishing to father that the last ten seconds could be wiped from the record.

Certain now that the newcomer is, in fact, an unmannerly interloper, Alvin puffs out his chest and says in his most authoritative voice "It seems you are not welcome at this table, sir. I think it would be best if you left immediately."

The drunken man begins to open his mouth to speak, "I... *HICCUP*...." blinking and spluttering from the sudden change in atmosphere brought on by Legion's rather powerful stare, he leans back in his chair, suddenly pale.  The man refocuses his attempt at seemingly casual conversation on the smallest least menacing member of the group, "Starrrrs to stones, little fella, 'ats a tasty lookin' meal. Is'at a turkey leg?  Name's Kheldar, whaaaas yers?" While his cough does seem to be clearing up, Kheldar's attempt at conversation still seems slightly strained by something.

Somewhat taken aback at the drunken man's resistance, Legion says "Excuse me, bartender. Do you know this man? He is making a nuisance of himself."

Nora'Luuu pauses, literally, mid-bite. His eyes slowly glance to his side to glance towards the giant of the drunkard, then they slowly slide back to the other side to face the rest of his companions. Presently, the creature's icy-blue glance lands on Kara, and the white weasel whispered towards her in his native Sylvan.

"Is it talking to me? I don't know what it's trying to say. I don't speak..." *sniff sniff* "Is that honey? Well, no matter, I don't speak Bee."

Kara looked to her furry friend and spoke to him in Elven. "Leave the Bee to me. I know how to deal with people who are...buzzed."

She walks over to Kheldar and slaps him on the ass*, and says in Common. "Hello handsome. Kheldar was it? My name is Kara. How about a drink on me?"

The halfling looks to her comrades and winks, then smiles at the man.

*Her fingers moving towards his coin purse during this action.
Hmm.

Legion blinks a couple of times in confusion, then sits back down at the table, thinking whatever she's up to, she can probably handle it. The slave races are so hard to understand sometimes, compared to his ancient masters.

What in blazes is she doing!? Alvin thought, she couldn't possibly be interested in... oh, wait, she's probably trying to get rid of him? He thought back to his father's standard technique to put off an insistent and uncouth petitioner: "be polite, friendly, and sympathetic, then give them as gentle a push out the door as you can and make sure the guards know not to let them back in this week." Yes, that's probably it. I should give her room to work. He backed off diffidently toward the opposite side of the table to Kara and the drunk, simultaneously dismissing the aether knife, still hovering unoticed over the table shan't be needing that now, I should think.

Sheant

::Now would be a good time for things to go according to plan:: Sheant thinks to himself, :: And hopefully somebody here knows draconic::

Peering out from under the oversized red wig and hoping that anyone looking from outside the altercation would be staring at the frisky woman, Sheant "clumsily" pores the watered honey onto her.

At the same time Sheant begins speaking Draconic in a low voice, "I don't wish to alarm any of you, but you need to continue to act normal and stay focused on me. I believe that we are all being watched, perhaps closely, by some rather cowardly but still dangerous street trash calling themselves a thieves guild. Perhaps if we could manufacture some reason to move ourselves to behind the establishment?"

The threatening man goes over and starts wiping the spilled ale off of the halfling girl, and replies in Draconic in a low voice "And just who are you? For all we know, you could be a member of this thieves guild trying to lead us into an ambush. The inside of a tavern seems a much safer place than an alley behind it."

More loudly in common he says "You clumsy lout! Look what you've done now! Do you know how hard it is to dry out halflings? They soak up water like little sponges."

Through the events so far, Sorrel has been content to sit back and watch. Finally noticing an empty chair at a nearby table, he pulls it over and motions for Alvin to take a seat.

Alvin sits where Sorrel indicates and says under his breath in draconic "I'm afraid this meeting is about to get decidedly less genial. Do you think we can trust him?"

As he is speaking, Alvin reshapes the aether he released a moment ago, this time forming it into a wickedly sharp looking dagger which he maintains floating behind and under his pack where it isn't easily visible. There I go, getting ahead of myself. What manner of trouble has Sorrel dug up this time?

Sorrel looks at his friend and shrugs. He replies in the same tongue, "Your guess is as good as mine. One way or another, it looks like we're not going to get much rest on this crazy adventure. This time, I think I'll sit back and watch for a bit. I don't really want to sprint halfway across town again. Not that the adventure wasn't totally worth the effort, but... So, how was your trip to Starryhall? I see you got some good practice in."

While making conversation, Sorrel observes the commotion(s) going on and makes sure his equipment is together and easily accessible in case he has to bolt again.

"I thought my trip was a bit of an adventure but it has nothing on the last five minutes. I don't know why that man is talking about thieves guilds, though. I'm absolutely certain there's nothing of the sort around here."
