"Any warning about death is a strong warning." sheesh, what kind of soft lives did these soft skins live? Weak warnings about death. What next, they would tell him that they abandoned their own hunting and gathering in favor of having others do it for them...

When the question of whether to move on or not was posed, Nora'Luuu gave a nod. In truth, he didn't like it down here. There was only one true time when you were supposed to be beneath the earth.

"So what now? Might as well get the rest of them, right?" Kara says as they exit. "Any close by?"

Once they reach the outside, Nora'Luuu seems a bit torn. He turns to Kara, then sweeps his glance over everyone else before motioning towards himself. "There's nothing more for me here to guard except a vision of someone over a pit... and the remains of very delicious deadly giant mushrooms." the weasel said in Sylvan, with the hint of a smirk, "I wish to travel with all of you, to see the world beyond the wood. To find the man in the vision, to help solve this riddle of stone."

"If you'd let me. But, I'd need some time to say good bye to Father if I can come."

"We don't know what the rest of them are for. I still think we should try and learn about these things before collecting them. Too much doom and gloom surrounding these things." As soon as they hit the outside, Isaac takes a large breath of air.

Legion says "I agree, Isaac. It is unwise to collect such ancient artefacts associated with dire prophesies without at least trying to learn more about them. Of course, if they draw more unwanted attention, as they did back in your hometown, it could also be problematic. So we should be discreet with our inquiries."

"We should get going. It took us a bit over a day to get here, so if we start back now, we can get back by dusk tomorrow," Kara says to the group, "and I'd rather spend tomorrow night in a warm bed if I can."
Hmm.

Nora'Luuu pads his way over to an easily overlooked mound covered in snow, takes a knee, and is silent for a few. Once he's said his good byes, he returns to the group.

"So, what is a bed?"

"I suppose we could try and sneak into the room at the Wolf Head, if they haven't sold it out. Or pay, I suppose." Isaac gave a small smile. "Nora'Luu, a bed is a marvelous thing of beauty, and I am happy we will be the first to reveal such marvels to you."

So... whatever a bed was, you laid upon it, and it was warm, and it was marvelous and beautiful. Nora'Luuu thought of all the wonderful, warm, marvelous things he laid in at night, and came to only one conclusion: Compost.

That warm, maybe even HOT, pile of rotting stuff where he kept all the parts of the animals he didn't eat. That earthen smell, and it even helped with hunting! Civilization just got a few marks better if EVERYONE had those.

As you pass again beneath the rune above the entranceway, it flares for each of you and you feel refreshed.  Nora'luuu in particular feels any remaining unpleasantness from eating the mushroom disappear.

You travel back towards Silverhaven, the first day taking you beyond the snow line.  Halfway through the second day, you are feeling tired and worn down from traveling.  However, the freshest ears manage to hear the squeal of a horse, followed by a sharp snapping sound, a large thud, and some grunting and chewing.

The look and feel of ground without snow is a new sight to the barbarian. It's far less cold, and damp, and squishy, and ... well, less then what he's used to.

"But as I was saying - huh? she stops abruptly, listening to the sounds. "Trouble is afoot...this way!" She gestures and begins moving towards the sound.

Nora'Luuu stops, his ears perking to pick up any wayward sounds. With a slow, practiced hand, he unsheathes the longsword strapped to his back. Ears flatten, and the entire creature's posture turns aggressive. Whatever was out there, Nora'Luuu was ready.

((without further input, I'm assuming you follow Kara & Nora))

As you round the curve of the hill, ahead you can see a 9-foot-tall hulking brute of a creature with pebbly skin, munching on a freshly-dead horse.  Nearby a figure in dented and bloody armor lies unmoving, a sword embedded in the ground next to it.

The creature seems not to have noticed you, engrossed as it is in its ungainly mastication.

Guessing that an apparently brutish creature like that might be weak-willed, Legion decides to attack the creature's mind rather than its hardy-looking body. He calls upon the knowledge of the ancient spirits locked within him, and channels a small fraction of their power. Somehow, he becomes even more noticeable than before, the sheen of his metallic scales glimmering like the mosaic of a stained-glass window, as the power fortifies both his personality and body.

Sneak sneak sneak, Nora'Luuu rounds the hill with the others and sees a gigantic monster of a monster. While dealing with things bigger then him wasn't a new experience for the shortish creature, this monster was more then just Large... it was...

Nevermind that. The bigger they are, the longer it takes them to fall to the ground. Nora'Luuu scruffed up, fur bristling, and he crept onward, longsword at the ready for a masterful cut. It seemed that Kara's friendly monster Legion was up to something, so he'd let the creature from beyond the stars do ... whatever it was he was going to do. Spit fire, or something.

Kara draws a knife as she moves forward. Boon looks utterly horrified at the creature munching on one of his equine friends, then goes back to being an NPC pack mule. Kara wonders for a moment if they can sneak by without a fight. She was guessing the fallen man was meeting his god about now, and not being that religious herself, she wasn't particularly eager for an eternally-long lecture from hers.
Hmm.
