Half Dragon

Prerequisites:

-Must be a non-dragon.
-Must have a dragon as a parent, or acquire and drink fresh blood from the dragon one intends to bond with.

HD:d10
Level Bab Fort Ref Will Feature
1+0 + 2+0+2 Dragon Descendancy,  Dragon Weapons, Dragon Breath, +1 Str, +1 Con
2+1 + 3+0+3Keen Senses, Draconic Blood, Draconic Flight, +1 Str, +1 Cha
Skills: 2 + Intelligence modifier per level, Class skills are Appraise, Bluff, Climb, Concentration, Diplomacy, Jump, Listen, Intimidate, Knowledge(any), Perform(any), Search, Spellcraft, Spot.

Proficiencies: The half-dragon gains no new proficiencies.

Dragon Descendancy: At first level the Half-Dragon picks one of the following dragons to be its ancestor/parent.

The Half-Dragon's creature type changes to Dragon and als gains any subtypes its Parent has, including elemental immunities, resistances and vulnerabilities. Do not recalculate skill points, saves, HD or Bab. In addition the Half-Dragon's natural armor increases by 1, plus any bonus its parent dragon would gain to NA besides its Con mod (so for example a half-red dragon would gain +3 NA since the red dragon normally gains 2+Con mod NA). Old racial traits are kept.

Finally, if the parent Dragon had extra forms of movement at first level like burrowing or swimming, the Half-Dragon gains one of them. The speed of that movement cannot exceed the base speed of the Half-Dragon. The Half-Dragon also grows a pair of wings, but they're too weak to do anything for now.

Dragon Weapons: At first level the Half-Dragon gains the natural weapons its parent dragon gains at first level, but they deal damage as if they were one size category smaller. If the half-dragon already had a natural weapons of that kind, instead increase its damage die one size category.

Dragon Breath:
At first level level the Half-Dragon gains the first Breath Weapon of its parent, but it must wait 1d4+1 rounds between uses instead of 1d4 and only affects half the area.

In the case of an Half-Fang dragon, instead it gains the Draining Bite ability, useable once every 1d4 rounds.

Ability Score increase: The half dragon gains +1 Str at both levels, +1 Con at 1st level and +1 Cha at 2nd level, for a total of +2 Str, +1 Con, +1 Cha at 2nd level.

Keen senses:At 2nd level the half dragon sees four times as well as a human in shadowy illumination and twice as well in normal light. It also has darkvision  out to 60 feet. If it already had darkvision, increase its range by an extra 60 feet.

Draconic Blood: At 2nd level the half-dragon gains the respective blood ability its parent would receive at 2nd level, using Half-Dragon levels for any class-based effects. The Half-Dragon can also turn cleric, sorceror or psion into a favored class.

In the case of an Half-Styx Dragon, instead it gains the Styx Adaptation ability and +1 Con.
In the case of an Half-Pyroclastic Dragon, instead it gains the ability of using Produce Flame as a SLA 1/day per HD and +1 Str.
In the case of an Half-Hellfire Wyrm, instead it gains the Lesser Fiendish Form ability and +1 Cha.
In the case of an Half-Nuclear Dragon, instead it gains the Atomic Blood ability as a 1st level Nuclear Dragon.

Draconic Flight:
At 2nd level the half-dragon's wings allow them to glide at their base speed with average maneurability (as flight, but cannot go up and must drop at least 5 feet per 20 feet of movement while in the air, rounded up to the next 5 feet multiplier), or twice their base movement speed if they're large sized or bigger. If they have 4 HD or more, this becomes normal flight at average maneuverability instead of just glide.

Half-Dragon Feats

Draconic Flight[Half-Dragon]

Prerequisites: Both levels of Half-Dragon and at least 4 HD
Benefit:Your wings now allow you to fly at twice your base speed with average maneuverability. Each wing may also be used to deliver a natural attack dealing 1d3 damage.
Special:When you reach 4 HD, you may choose to freely retrain any non-bonus feat you have for this one if you have both levels of Half-Dragon.

Extra Breath Weapon[Half-Dragon]

Prerequisites: Both levels of Half-Dragon and one Breath Weapon
Benefit:You gain another breath weapon your parent dragon possesses. Its “cooldown” is doubled and only affects half the area.
Special:You must have at least as much HD as you would need levels of your parent dragon class to gain the new breath weapon. For example, an half-gold dragon would need at least 6 HD before being able to learn Weakening Gas.

Improved Breath[Half-Dragon]

Prerequisites: Both levels of Half-Dragon and one Breath weapon that is improved in the Parent Class
Benefit:You gain the next upgrade for your parent's breath weapon. For example if you're a half-Shadow Dragon you would gain the Billowing Breath.
Special:You can take this feat multiple times until your breath weapon reaches its power peak (in the case of the half-shadow dragon, you could take it one more time to gain Draining Breath). You must have at least as much HD as you would need levels of your parent dragon class to gain the new breath weapon. For example, an half-shadow dragon would need at least 3 HD before being able to learn Billowing Breath and 8 HD before learning Draining Breath.

Draconic Movement[Half-Dragon]

Prerequisites: Both levels of Half-Dragon
Benefit:You gain another movement mode of your dragon parent, following the rules in the half-dragon prc.
Special:You may select this feat multiple times, selecting a new movement mode each time. You may not select a movement mode your draconic parent does not possess.

Inspired by the Dragon Samurai PrC and one of the pictures above:

Energise Weapon [Racial]
Prerequisites: Half-dragon
Benefit: As a swift action you may touch a weapon and expend a use of your breath weapon to infuse it with the power of your draconic ancestor. For 1 round, any target struck by the weapon is subjected to your breath weapon.
Special: If your dragon ancestor does not possess a breath weapon, the weapon instead channels whatever special attack you gained in place of a breath weapon.

Why limit this to half-dragons only? I'd think if a half-dragon can do this, then a full dragon should be able to also.

You're missing the 1st level Fort Save value (obviously supposed to be +2)

Fixed.

As for  Energise Weapon, I would like Prime32's opinion on the matter.

Eh, mainly... Dragons are less likely to be wielding weapons, and have less to gain relative to using their breath weapon normally. I thought the hybrids developing a unique trick seemed cool.

So, with this class do you scrap your existing Race/Special Qualities/etc or do you get to keep them?

As it is listed as a prestige class, and doesn't include all of the "you lose all racial... " (like many, many of the other classes in here do), I'm pretty sure that you keep everything not specifically mentioned as being changed (like type changes to dragon, etc).

So basically any non-Dragon can take this as long as you can consume blood and desire to bond with a dragon who reciprocates?  :plotting

Yes.

And Dragon Descendancy specifically says you get to keep your old racial traits at the end and everything.

Do victims of an Energized Weapon attack still get a saving throw for half damage against the breath weapon?

EDIT: Ooooo, and they're getting hit for that breath damage every time on a full attack. Ouch.

Well, if you can find a way to lose your Dragon creature type after entering this PrC, it looks like you could certainly qualify for a 2nd round through its levels. It'd certainly be interesting as you would end up collecting multiple breath weapons and your natural attacks would increase by +1 die size each time you took the 1st level.

With the winged creature being posted, I just noticed the half-dragon grants wings but they don't do anything, so added draconic flight.

So I have a question about this.

Draconic Blood says it uses Half-Dragon levels for any level-based effects and for Half-Nuclear Dragon it gives the ability as if it was a level 1 Nuclear Dragon. So does it mean it never improves because there are only 2 Half-Dragon levels or you meant the Half-Dragon's character level?

Yes, because most dragons only get any blood bonus starting at 2nd level and based on some third class, while the nuclear dragon has its own maneuver progression starting at 1st level. Granting equal to half total HD would be crazy.

Also funny how this one ended up more popular than any of the actual dragons.
