Greetings

I was looking at the spell templates presented in Dr 311 again the other day and was thinking the Concussive template might fit a character I'm currently working on, both mechanically and fluffwise
However, having to produce a pearl worth at least 250 gp as an additional material component for each casting makes this pretty prohibitve, especially since the character in question likely won't progress past level 6-7

So I basically have two questions:
1) What (preferably low-level) ways, if any, are there to ignore expensive material components?
2) What ways, if any, are there to get my hands on pearls worth at least 250 gp each for a low price (ignoring simply breaking the economy/WBL with (borderline) TO)

All D&D 3.5 by the way (although I think that's pretty obvious from the above); all sources allowed

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
~Ziltoid

There's this feat, but it's certainly out of reach without shenanigans.

Maybe you could look into some way to turn your spells into SLAs or something? That would get around the material component issue. Not sure if it would work with a spell template, though.

I'm sure the 25gp shouldn't be the problem.
For breaking WBL: Is using Fabricate too much of a TO?

Maybe you can think of some way to get some more treasure, i.e. Minor Creation -> craft poison -> sell it and run. If you have a rogue in your party he will thank you if you craft him poison all the time and Minor Creation at level 1 is simply a feat from XPH.
You could even sell Mounts that you summon.
Remember to ask your DM every time you loot a caster if he got pearls (i.e. for identify, they are worth 4 casts with your feat).

Yeah, that feat's not gonna work
Any suggestions on the SLA thing?

For pearls?  Not sure what craft skill that would be, but all you'd need is sand to make it, right?
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

I.e. (just because it's the one I know most about, take Craft Trapmaking and make sure to get +20 so you get DC 30 on taking 10) then you make easy going over 10k gp with 2-3 castings.
