Multiple Martial adept classes and Master of Nine
« on: March 29, 2012, 11:05:42 AM »
First post here, as I have been using the CO board on the official site, but this board looks to be much more active.

Right now I am on a Tome of Battle kick and have come up with a build that sounds fun, but may not be super optimized,
so I ask for some suggestions.  I really like the sound of the master of nine, so that is a definite.  I love the Iron discipline
and warblade refreshment and HD, so warblade will be my focus.  I do want a bunch of level 9 maneuvers.

Dragonborn of Bahamut Water Orc- 20 STR, 15 DEX, 20 CON, 14 INT, 10 WIS, 12 CHA- I know these are high but house rule
is yahtzee style, so i'll take it.  These stats include +4 str, -2 dex, +4 con, -2 int, -2 wis, -2 cha.  I have high enough stats that
MAD won't be quite as much of a problem with my build.  Here are the basics.

I will be pumping concentration, balance, intimidate, and jump for the skill prereqs for Mo9

1-5 warblade:  1st level feat- Improved Initiative(prereq), Flaw: Jack of All Trades(UMD), Flaw: Combat Expertise(prereq)
3rd level feat- Blind-fight(prereq), level 4 stat bonus to dex for +3 bonus.
5th level warblade feat- Adaptive Style

6: Unarmed Swordsage Variant:  Feat(free):  Improved unarmed strike(prereq), 6th level Feat:  Desert Wind Dodge(prereq)
Also will be getting some desert wind maneuvers for desert wind dodge and level 9 maneuver.

7: Crusader:  Steely resolve, Devoted spirit maneuvers so I can have some later maneuvers and the level 9 one.

I have planned my maneuvers and stances to hit the prereqs for Mo9, but can't think of them off the top of my head.

8-9:  Mo9: Couple levels here for some maneuvers and such.

10-18:  Warblade:  I will be hitting level 9 maneuvers at level 19, so these will just be adding HD and skills and such.

19-21:  Mo9  Finishing out with most of the 9th level maneuvers.

22+:  Warblade:  If I get there, I will complete the warblade progression.

So, I lose out on +1 BAB, and I don't get level 9 maneuvers until 19th character level, but I have a really diverse character
who will be very fun for me to play and build, and has a lot of maneuvers.  Let me know what you all think.  I know this
isn't the most optimized build, but I would like to optimize some.  Most Mo9 builds I see have levels in a different prestige
class, none of which appeal to me.  My party consists of myself, a tripping large sized fighter, a goliath fighter, and a
cleric human.  I love the Jack of All Trades feat, so that stays no matter what.  I am looking into dragon cohort at level 9
feat, but other feats are up for suggestion.  Looking forward to some opinions.

No opinions?  Not good enough to discuss?  Good enough to be left alone?  Not enough details?

So the final (level 20) build would be:

Crusader 1/Swordsage 1/Warblade 13/Mo9 5

Is that right? You should get 9th level manuevers at 18th character level, if so. You get half-progression towards your WB from Crusader and SS. Your IL for Crusader and SS would be 13 each (at level 20), also.

Without your full feat and maneuver progression, there isn't much to critique.

Thanks for the good news on level 9 maneuvers.
