[4E] The Maker's Crown - Currently Recruiting
« on: November 07, 2011, 05:20:33 PM »
I've seen some of my players active already: Flay Crimsonwind, Nanshork, archangel.arcanis, and Risada. Just waiting for Calchexxis to show up.

But in the interest of getting things rolling and proving you guys are active, it would seem we need a headcount. :)

Hello! Please pardon my intrusion...

Is this still the 4E version?

Yes, yes it is. It's the sole version that exists at the moment, and the one that's been on-going.

When you spend as much time obsessively checking the boards as I do, you notice a lot. :P

I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay in game now. I was told yesterday that Dec. 31 will be my last day working here. So things will be up in the air for me until I have a new job lined up and I don't know if I'll have to ability to get here from work at whatever new job I get.

Well, there'll likely always be a spot for you to return if you need to leave. I'm well familiar with having to rotate players in and out of games.

So, looks like we're just waiting on a post from Risada and to see if Calchexxis is going to re-join the forums, and then I can go ahead and request a new subforum.

Sorry for not noticing this earlier... I am working a LOT (like, 12 to 16 hours a day), meaning I get a lot less time online....

But yes, I am still around....

Hey, no problem! I know what it's like to have a packed work schedule. If you get to a busy spot we can always NPC your character until things slow down. :)
---

We're just waiting to hear back from Calchexxis, but I think I can safely request the board now. I've already asked dna1 to try and get in contact with Cal, since they know each other IRL, so hopefully we hear soon.

He already joined the board, and Agreed to the "comment here first" thread, but hasn't posted an intro thread or here, obviously. I sent him a PM, so I'm sure we'll get a post soon. I've taken the opportunity to request the game forum, and as soon as it's up I'll port some stuff over and we can resume. :)

Forum's up, along with a brief recap and a few of the other threads. There's a lot of in-game stuff I could have ported over, but I think we can safely move on. Most of the relevant information will be continuously updated in the General Player Information thread.

As we have no Open Game Advertisements thread anymore, I'll just use this thread:

The Maker's Crown is a 4th Edition D&D game set in Eberron, and currently has an open spot. All sorts of characters are welcome, and you need not be familiar with Eberron; sources of inspiration for the campaign and setting are taken from film noir/mystery stories, high adventure (such as Indiana Jones), and occult stories (Lovecraft, several horror stories). This is a world where nothing is ever quite as it seems.

Characters are starting at level 1 with no set end-point planned; the game is an open-world, though plot cues and hooks are provided. Initially, the campaign is opening with an Eberron-themed conversion of Keep on the Shadowfell, to give the game some momentum to build off of.

Current characters include a Kalashtar Invoker, a Tiefling Paladin, a Githyanki Artificer, and an Eladrin Swordmage. As you can see, any and all content is fine with me, so long as it's cleared first; in addition, homebrew is possible so long as it's worked out with me; When I ran this game in-person, one player wanted to play a Mind Flayer... so I let him! Obviously the race was modified so the character would fit into the party and the level of power of a player character, but Eberron is a world where this sort of thing is not entirely unheard-of.

The Maker's Crown is Recruiting!
« Reply #18 on: July 06, 2012, 09:36:29 PM »
So, our game is currently lagging in the player department right now. Several have left due to RL issues taking precedence over PbP, and we're currently down to 3 players. The current roster includes a Tiefling Paladin, a Githyanki Artificer, and an Eladrin Swordmage.

I'm opening recruitment for the game for 2-3 players, which as stated above is a 4E D&D game set in Eberron. The first leg of the adventure is based on the Keep on the Shadowfell module, with alterations made to accommodate the Eberron setting as well as the actions of the player characters, and some particular alterations to accommodate the overarching plot that this part of the adventure will lead into.

Current starting level for new players is level 2, as the party has just leveled up.
We're using standard point-buy as detailed in the PHB (though stat arrays listed there also work pretty much the same way).
As the current players have received a small bonus ability each and are set to receive some magic gear soon (yes, guys, I haven't forgotten about the loot!), feel free to start with standard WBL for a character starting at level 2.
However, you may sacrifice the 2nd or 3rd level item to gain a similar custom ability to those gained by the current player characters.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to post here, send me a PM, or post in the OOC Discussion thread in the game forum.
