Silverymoon Should've Conquered the World!
« on: April 11, 2012, 03:52:53 AM »
Find a copy of Silver Marches.  Open to page 62.  Look at the bottom sidebar regarding The Lady's College, located in Silverymoon.

Students of The Lady's College can create magic items, even if they lack the feat, at 90% off market price!  (40% off creation price)  Sure, they must meet other prereqs, like having the right spells to cast and enough of a caster level.  That's basically giving me 10x the wealth I'd normally have!

There's also the issue of being accepted into the college, and paying tuition or being part of the staff.

Still, 90% off market value.  Whoa!

Suddenly, Archivists are better crafters then artificers? Interesting.

This needs to be on all decent cost reduction handbooks ASAP.

Edit:
When I read your comment at first, I expected that it would be a typo: 90% OFF base price as opposed to 90% OF base price.
This is exactly what I thought as well.

Assume that any rules statements I make are under full RAW.
Common sense, game balance, or an enjoyable experience need not apply.

You miss read it. It is saying that you must pay an extra 10% of the market price, not that you only pay ten percent of the market price.

Agreed.  It seems pretty clear that the 10% "special fee" is above and beyond the normal price, and simply the fee you pay for circumventing the normal requirement to have the feat.

Chalk that one up to ambiguity!
