augment crystal
« on: April 27, 2012, 02:49:51 AM »
I saw an augment crystal can be added to a weapon, suit of armor, or shield.

Unarmed strike = a weapon

What happens when you add the hardness crystal to your body?

Does a foe have to now bypass your newfound hardness?

The energy crystal is now one of the cheapest forms of energy damage

Alas, it won't work   :(

MIC, p 221
least augment crystal - must be attached to at least masterwork armor or weapon
lesser augment crystal - must be attached to at least +1 armor or weapon
greater augment crystal - must be attached to at least +3 armor or weapon

Unless you can convince your DM that your character's body is masterwork, it won't fly.  Maybe a monk when he gets "perfect body"? :plot

Add a Lesser one to a Necklace O' Natural Attacks.  Which includes Throwing but not Returning, just for kicks.

Sirpercival brought up necklace of natural attacks, that would help with the +1/+3 problem

Oh sure, I think you could add the crystals to t-shirt and gloves -- as long as they're masterwork   :D

Isn't there a Warforged feat that lets your plating count as masterwork?
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.
