You left out one based off of Blind Guardian?

Shame on you, my friend!

I can't think of which songs to use, but I'm pretty sure the best names to use are Otherworld, Sacred Worlds, and Curse my Name.

Machinae Supremacy has a couple great tracks to use: I'm thinking Player One, Indiscriminate Murder is Counter Productive, and A View from the End of the World.

World's End Girlfriend has some great names, and their music is... yeah. But namewise... Carroling Hellwalker, Mass Murder Refrain, and Dream's End comes true.

Other than that, I got nothin'.

Lol!  I'm still working on them -- do you really think I'd finish with just 12?  There are a lot of great bands I haven't touched yet.

I'll add in everyone's suggestions.

OK, we're up to 6 genres in each category.  Now I just have to write out a ton of descriptions...  :shakefist  Lol.

And I gave Chrono Trigger the nod over Cross, due to seniority.

EDIT: Do I need to increase the number of Chords known?  Or is 1/level enough?

Maybe a feat to learn new Chords?

If you give more than one chord per level, you'll need to either make things at will or reduce the bonus chords/day to not be multiplied by the number of chords known. Otherwise, the bookkeeping will be atrocious (one of the few things I dislike about Oslecamo's monster classes illustrates this; large numbers of abilities each with large numbers of uses, far more than you can possibly expect to use before they recharge, but you still have to track them all). Just be careful about that.

Meh.  I think I'll leave it at 1/level.  It'll be excruciating picking chords from a list this awesome, but that just means that every PB will be different.

It's probably our untangle box screwing things up then.  Sure it's nice when it filters out all the ads and crap, but I'd sometimes rather have ads than not see some awesome artistic creations.  Decreasing suck versus increasing awesome and such.

Broken there too, even though the usual "this has been blocked" screen isn't up.  PITA.

Morning Glow
Harmony, Chrono Trigger 6
Area: 60-foot radius burst centered on you
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

The warm radiance of the rising sun washes over your allies, refreshing them.

All allies within the area of effect (including yourself) gain the benefit of a full 8-hours rest, including natural healing and the recuperation of spent spell slots, prepared spells, or ability uses.  A given ally cannot benefit from this chord more than once every 48 hours.

I feel we should be very, very afraid of the powerbard  now. Although the idea of "Good Morning, Crono!" Preceding a magical beatdown of unparalelled magnitude is downright hilarious, this is easily the strongest effect in the game currently. Crystal Mage might be a nerfed wizard, but he still has wizard spells. And his otherwise low reserve just got increased to that of a normal wizard. This should probably be a ninth level chord, or perhaps the capstone of a PrC (Chronomancer, perhaps?), But a sixth level chord is too low to be shattering the spell economy so openly. Then again, I could be wrong, since how often do people run out of spells anyway?

Well, you get nearly the same thing for 3k out of a Heward's Fortifying Bedroll.  I could nerf it in any of three ways: count spells within 8 hours against the new set; require 1 hour sleep; reduce the effect in some other way (maybe recover all but highest-level spell slots?).

Fortifying Bedrolls take 1 hour, not a standard action. This is one of the shticks of time trait abusing demiplane users (pop back to fast time plane as a standard action with Plane Shift, rest up for 8+ hours, then come back inside the same round). I don't think it really works as a power chord, though. The very nature of being usable only once every 2 days flies in the face of having scaling uses per day that improve with both level and Charisma. And it's way too powerful without that limit (especially since using it gives you back the use of it you just expended).

You can use it multiple times per day, just not to affect the same people.  But agreed... it's too wonky.  Either brokenly powerful, or broken-mechanic useless.  So I'll change what it does.

All the melody chords are done.   :surrender

I only have about 5k characters left in that post, so if I get a bunch more I'll have to split it up somehow.  Maybe move the Rhythms into the previous post... anyway, is 6 genres enough for each grade right now?

Dream On
Melody, Aerosmith 9
Area: 20-foot radius emanation centered on you
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: No

As you play the chord, the music swells around you in a dreamy bubble.

Dream On creates a planar bubble (as per the planar bubble spell) which emulates the Dreamheart (see Manual of the Planes page 201 for information on the Region of Dreams).  Though time passes much more quickly inside the bubble than outside, things have difficulty transitioning across the boundary.  Attacks cannot be made across the boundary in either direction; spells cannot be cast across the boundary (including power chords cast as spells), nor can spell-like, supernatural, or extraordinary abilities be activated across the boundary (including power chords activated as SLAs or supernatural abilities). Creatures inside the bubble must make a Will save to be able to leave, though they can otherwise act normally.

Any creature trapped inside the bubble may make Lucid Dreaming checks as normal if it has ranks in the skill; a DC 20 Lucid Dreaming check allows a creature to leave the bubble without making a Will save.  You may substitute a Perform check for a Lucid Dreaming check if you wish.  You can make a special Lucid Dreaming check to emulate the effects of any power chord you know (DC 20 + 3 times chord level), without expending a daily use of the chord.  However, the range and/or area of effect of any chord emulated this way is limited to inside the Dream bubble.

When the chord ends, all spells and effects which began inside the bubble also end.  Consumables and daily uses activated inside the bubble are not expended, and spell slots or power points are returned to their pre-bubble state.  However, the effect of any spells or abilities with an instantaneous duration remain, as does any damage, conditions, or death sustained during the time spent inside the bubble.

How does the plane of dreams work in your cosmology anyway?

Also, think very hard about allowing lucid dreaming as a skill. It is probably one of the easiest ways to kill someone.

It works as per the MoP; it's a transitive plane.

And LD exists, but is a Restricted, Trained-Only skill which you can't take ranks in, even if your class has all skills as class skills.  The only way to get ranks is by attuning to the Dream node as a Planar Pioneer.  So very very few people will have it.  Is that good enough?

I haven't written the Dream node yet, or included LD in the Skills thread.
