Notice of open campaign: High Arcana
« on: June 03, 2012, 07:43:47 PM »
To anyone who's interested:

I've resurrected and reworked dna1's High Arcana campaign.  It's now an open campaign over on Bears w/ Swordchucks EDIT: right here on MinMax.  "Open Campaign" means that anyone can join or leave at any time.

I'm making a couple tweaks to the campaign rules/setup as problems are pointed out, but other than that it's ready.  The first teams are starting to form, so it's open season.  :smirk

Interestingly enough, everyone who's joined so far is playing something homebrew.  So take that for what it's worth.

My work's computer blocks some of those pages because "malware or a virus has been detected in its contents."

You looking for new players?

Any chance I may be allowed with  a wizard with some Doll Judgement?

I'm possibly interested* as well. Will you be porting over the character generation and house rules? Not sure about going to a site that has possible viruses and malware.

*I'd be even more interested if it was Pathfinder  ;)

Also tentatively interested, though currently at work so I'll have to wait until I get home to come up with a quick concept/build.

It's an open game, so anyone is welcome to join.  :)

I'll be porting over the rest of the threads shortly.  Re: Pathfinder, I've approved a few Pathfinder things piecemeal, so let me know if there's something in particular you'd like to play.

No problem and no hurry.  I have two teams already, so you guys will probably make a third.  You've got time, since this is an open game, the teams will be moving asynchronously.

Don't have any solid ideas so far, but I'd pretty much perfer to use the pathfinder versions of whichever class I decide on, as well as pathfinder feats and such, the improved skill system, etc.

If not, it's no big deal, I just perfer Pathfinder when at all possible. I may try one of the "new"(to me heh) classes in Advanced Player's Guide.

Read the setting info and so far am quite interested, but no character concept yet.

Run any Pathfinder stuff by me first.  I won't be using the mechanics (feat progression, skills, etc) but individual feats, classes, equipment, spells, etc. will likely be fine.

Sounds good.

Oh yeah, and osle:

Definitely!  I'd love to see DJ in action.  Don't have to play a Wizard if you don't want to... just saying :)

Alright, got a minute of spare time and looked through the homebrew in my extended signature.

Possibilities requiring approval:
Blood King and required Bloodlines

Yeah, it's a little complicated...

Ooh, the only reason I didn't join in the first place is that it was hosted elsewhere.  :D

Now I need to find something to play...

The mechanics are what I'm mostly interested in, in my opinion Pathfinder does things better. But it's only a perference, perfectly fine with mainly 3.5 with some(or alot  :D ) Pathfinder stuff sprinkled on.

But with that said, I would still really like to use the "combined" skills of Pathfinder(or simular). Spot, Listen & Search become Perception, Hide & Move Silently become Stealth, etc.

Heh, me too.

Thanks!

And if one doesn't need to be a spellcaster, then can I play a Scholar picking DJ as my second school?

Approved.  Love Welknair's bloodlines, and I always wondered how this would play out.

Great to have you aboard!

I did similar stuff in Magipunk, but I think I'm going to keep the 3.5 skills system.  I'd have to change a bunch of the affiliations...

And if one doesn't need to be a spellcaster, then can I play a Scholar picking DJ as my second school?

Sure :)

A tad concerned about the high level of optimization needed. While I always try to make effective characters at what they do, I certainly wouldn't call myself an optimizer. Heh, afterall, a favorite dip is two levels of fighter.

Don't worry about that.  You'll be fine.

Idea

That looks pretty awesome.  Osle's classes are pre-approved so you're fine.

Everyone, note that you can just go post on the board.  I'll update the link at the top.  It seems you guys have a team...

OK, osle and Venn, we currently have one team of 5 and two teams of 4.  I'm starting large-scale edits of the affiliations, so there's a little time before we start... you guys can either recruit two more players and form your own team, or you can ask around the current teams and see if anyone would like another teammate.  Team sizes are 4-6.
