Feat progression for Spellthief 20?
« on: November 08, 2011, 09:13:54 AM »
What feats would be good for a Spellthief 20 to take? Race would probably be an Elf of some sort.

You will need to give us more information than that. Books allowed, what you are trying to accomplish, etc.

That said, Master Spellthief is pretty good.

right, sorry.

Books are 3.5 that don't deal with a specific campaign setting. Level going in is unknown, possible 5+. The role in the party will be like a Blue Mage (think final fantasy), or as close as possible. Not sure which weapons/spells/armor I feel like utilizing, as the Spellthief himself has pretty bad options.

Weapons and armor are mostly irrelevant. You want to maximize your ability to steal spells. I personally like the summon elemental reserve feat to get a free flanking buddy and polymorph into a hydra with as many heads as you can. Proceed to consume spell slots from your enemy, discarding the ones you don't want and using the ones that would be useful.

Master spellthief is a great feat, even if you go strait ST, just because it will let you stack up you CL, which is pitiful.

Master Spellthief does seem like a must. I never considered summoning to achieve the flanking bonus, I really like that. The Hydra is also clever.

Obtain Familiar (Complete Arcane) + Improved Familiar (many sources, DMG is the original) + a familiar with an at-will spell-like ability.  Have fun with Steal SLA.

Master Spellthief (Complete Scoundrel), as mentioned, is a pretty nice way to fix your caster level.  Darkstalker (Lords of Madness) is pretty much a must if you are planning on being a stealth-focused character.

Summon Elemental is cool, but so is invisibility at will from an imp familiar.
