very crazy idea?

so i spent today learning about psionics.  lots of fun stuff in the expanded psionic handbook.  the class soul knife led me to an interesting idea.

could the soul knife take kensi as a prestige class and use the weapon enhancement abilities on his psionic blade?

initially i said no because the Kensi class says you have to have a master crafted or better weapon to use the class features on.

While I am away from books and can't say if it is legal or not,I say let it happen since Soulknife is so underpowered it needs everything it can get....

It looks like he can.  The Signature Weapon ability says "If the weapon is a manufactured one, it must be of at least masterwork quality."  As far as I'm aware, mindblades are not manufactured weapons, even though they are treated like them in most cases.

Why not take 4 levels of Soulknife so you can have a +1 mind blade?  It's now enchanted, therefore it's good enough to be enchanted further.

well the kensi also says that they can use 'natural weapons.'

A soulknife's mind blade is "identical in all ways (except visually) to a short sword".  A short sword is a manufactured weapon, so a mind blade therefore counts as one.  Plus, you get iterative attacks with it, unlike with natural weapons.

It does also mention that they count as magic for purposes of overcoming DR.  That may be enough to allow them to be enchanted through Kensai as if MW, but YMMV.

I'd totally allow it.  This is so far from overpowered that I can't possibly conceive of objecting to it.
