Hi there, I am trying to stat out an extremely-high-but-not-quite-theoretical optimization level 3 wizard, for use in a game with war an soldiers and stuff.

The XP is exactly enough to get to 3rd level, and 3000 gp.

So far, I have Abrupt Jaunt Martial Wizard Focused Specialist Conjurer 3, with one of the reserve feats that are offensive in nature, but not being actual spells, that I hope won't technically break invisibility (which ones can I plausibly argue won't break invisibility?  Fiery Burst doesn't use an attack roll and isnt a spell, right?).

Does anyone have any idea for what spells are most useful for this sort of thing?  Assume an E6 world...

No psionics in the world.  Any suggestions? What are some ways I can stack miss chances?  What are the best things I can do for intelligence gathering? I'm thinking of buying a Glidewing (EbCS)...

Edit: if it matters, this is an E6 game with only L4 spells existing as rituals in the setting at all.

My interpretation of breaking invisibility involves subjecting an unwilling subject to any effect.  For example, bathing someone in acid who doesn't want to is unwilling.  Trying to steal someone's pants who doesn't want 'em stolen is unwilling.

You can still do roundabout things like summon.

Your GM may disagree.

I'm curious about this too, as Versatile Caster requires spontaneous casting...?

from what i find, it pretty much doesn't work.

the idea (i guess) is use versatile to trade your spells 2:1 to get a higher slot. assuming nine lvl 1 spells gets 1 lvl nine slot.

but you have have spontaneous casting to do so.

i don't see what is letting you spontaneously cast.

i also don't see anything that says 9 lvl 1 spells = 1 lvl 9 spell. seems to me, 2 lvl 1s get you a lvl 2. 4 lvl 1s get you 2 lvl 2s gets you a lvl 3...

precocious gets a specialist wiz 2 lvl 2 slots, w/ versatile you could trade them for a 3 (might be able to argue that you trade for two 3's and ride that to 9s... but i doubt it.)
but your still not spontaneous casting

20 int spec wiz precocious and versitile

1 lvl 1 spell from class
1 lvl 1 spell from spec
2 lvl 1 spells from int
1 lvl 2 spell from preco
1 lvl 2 spell from spec
1 lvl 2 spell from int.

reflow
2 lvl 2 spell from versatile from 4 lvl 1 spells
3 semi regular lvl 2 spells

reflow

2 lvl 3 spells from versatile
1 lvl 2 spell left over

reflow

1 lvl 4 spell from versitile
1 lvl 2 spell left over.

still isnt spontaneous

and, if you can mount the 'spec gives +1 spec spell per spell lvl... then your golden if you get spontaneous figured.

big ifs.

What are your thoughts on this?

Human, Abrupt Jaunt, Martial Wizard, Focused Specialist, Conjurer 3

L1feat: extend spell
HuFeat: sculpt spell
trait: aggressive
flaw1: murky eyed
flaw2: noncombatant
Flaw1feat: cloudy conjuration
Flaw2feat: Invisible Spell
MartialWiz: Improved Initiative
L3feat: Fiery Burst

And the most hardcore wbl-mancy I can manage?

Why do you care about fiery burst?  It's rather underwhelming to me...

Sustained damage for free.

I'm guessing this is for a MW game Gavinfoxx?

Yes, MW. Also, apparently there are flaw house rules, you can only take flaws detrimental to your character.

Detrimental being defined as?

At early levels -1 AC might be a problem, but later on the wizard probably doesn't care thanks to blink, blur, et al.  Shaky might prove the same way since rays can be good at low levels but at higher there are plenty of options.

This is kind of funny because Gavinfoxx already thought of Alter Self. The MW planning thread is full of reasons why Alter Self is borked.

Sustained damage for free.

Alternately, you might want to look at Acidic Splatter. They're both pretty similar, however.

Honestly though, you're not going to convince Callous of anything at level 3. At level 5, you'd be better off, but your true battlefield ruining power isn't going to show up until level 9 (that is, spell level 5). You're still going to be versatile and useful in all situations where you have spells, but I don't think you'll be crazy broken.

I forgot to say, this is an E6 game with only L4 spells existing as rituals.  I will edit the OP to say that.
