I was going to wait and look at all of the affiliations before choosing one, but I'm a-okay with picking one that is already finished.  I'll go do that and finish my character up so I'll be able to nag you more legitimately.   :p

Hey everyone, I have a question.  Who wants to join an affiliation which isn't finished yet?  I figure I need to do the Chorrun Char and the Sisterhood (and I swear I'll finish the Calaspers), but does anyone want to join the Fallen, Forsaken, or Order of the Dawn?  If not, I'll finish the others first and we'll start, and I can do those later as necessary.

I like!

For my character's backstory, I was going to say that she was dumped as an orphan at either the Sisterhood of Silence or Brotherhood of Redemption. She's really too flighty (chaotic) for the Brotherhood, and likes to sing too much to really be a Sister, but that's fine. She can kind of be the annoying weird kid who hangs around, and they tolerate and love, but don't really respect much.

I would also like to say that one of her parents is rumored to be a powerful Magi, and that they'd dropped her off because they were ashamed of her affliction, which had came about due to something they had done (you know... meddling with things better left alone, like making telepathic contact with powerful outer planar beings, etc). But she doesn't know her parents, and it is just a rumor as far as she's concerned.

Would either one of those work better for that backstory?

Btw a stupid question:Does flyby attack grant me an "additional" standard action?

Quote
When flying, the creature can take a move action (including a dive) and another standard action at any point during the move. The creature cannot take a second move action during a round when it makes a flyby attack.

another implies that I get 1 for free but I wanted to double check with you first.

Lol, no it doesn't -- that's the one standard action for your turn.  Probably poor editing from back when there were no such things as move vs standard actions.

@phae: first off, I got really confused for a sec because I thought you were talking about your other char.  Lol.  But anyways, I don't think the Sisterhood really works, because she has basically no chance of maintaining a vow of silence.  I'm not sure the Brotherhood makes that much sense either... is she committed in any way to redeeming evil?  What makes the most sense to me is the Delvers (kind of a catch-all for adventurer types) or maybe the Watch or Red Lotus, but it's your call.

By the way, what's the swordsinger feat?

It's a feat required to access the Lost Lyrics martial discipline. The 3rd level stance Magical Melody from that discipline gives you Inspire Courage as a bard of your initiator level. A 1st level strike (Augment Anapaest) also increases your IC bonus by +1.

I'm totally fine with her being a bad member of either... I just was wondering if either would take in a weird (but not evil) orphan, and if they'd kick her out if she didn't really adhere strictly to their principles. The Sisterhood of Silence affiliation doesn't actually require the Vow of Silence to be a low level member, for example. So I thought perhaps she could be affiliated with them, but constantly be failing (and getting chastised) for breaking her Vow. :P

I guess I could say she was dumped there as an orphan, and then kicked out, and joined the Delvers (or whatever)... Also... the idea of a bard-type joining an order that requires a Vow of Silence is hilarious. :D And technically I think she could function perfectly well even if she did take the Vow, as she could just use Perform (Dance) for everything, instead of Perform (Sing).  ;) (Or for that matter, just use a music instrument. Silence means not speaking, it doesn't seem to include playing musical instruments.  :tongue )

I'm going to be absent for a few weeks at least. I've been having some issues and have a surgery coming up. It's nothing serious, but it's been keeping me sufficiently distracted that I haven't been able to get on recently. Apologies for the delay, and I hope to be back soon. :)

I was thinking of having the imp be with The Fallen (still works with PA) and my guy to have some ties to them (but PA be the primary).

@sirpercival: Maybe since DonQ's not willing to swap Dragonblood subtype into first level, we can houserule it for the game? If it'd make things easier. Otherwise, you just have to build something into Chorrun Charr that allows DhA's, specifically, into the affiliation.

Looks like he's changed his mind. That makes things easier!

Allllllrighty then.  Save for some tweaking, affiliations are done.  I'm going to ask that everyone sign off on their chars' respective doneness in their team thread.  If you're not done, don't worry -- it'll take me some time to get all the threads going
