I only get access to one aura unless I take feats for more (would be nice if I at least got to switch the aura between the two circles I get, but what'll ya do). Plus, I only have access to two circles, so I'd have to take another feat to gain a single formula from one different circle just to qualify.

It's a bit of an investment for not enough return, I think. Sticking with DhA is a much better option for me, given all the class features.

Right now I'm trying to pick my 2 circles, and I've also been trying to figure out which Affiliation to go with. Chorrun Charr makes the most sense thematically, but I can't qualify unless I take Dragontouched as a feat since I don't have the dragonblood subtype (which is funny to me since my background involves my character's blood being replaced with dragon's blood as part of the experiments that "made" him, to explain the DhA class levels) or Dragon type. Plus, there's little benefit I get out of it. Right now, Magi is the affiliation I qualify for the easiest (since it's the only one that includes spellshaping), but I'm not sure I care for the fluff as it pertains to my character. I can get into some of the other spellcasting affiliations if spellshaping counts as arcane spellcasting, but otherwise it's still harder to get ahead, even many levels down the line.
I'd actually considered mentioning to DonQuixote that he add something to the DHA progression that grants it the Dragontouched subtype/feat. It sure seems like it should get it, and doesn't the Dragonfire Adept get it? Does Dragon Shaman? Or was that from another book? DHA seems to be a mashup of those two with some martial adept thrown in. So I think it is an oversight that it doesn't get it, especially since the Apotheosis at the end is turning into a full-blow half-dragon.

Dragon Shamans count as having the Draconic Heritage feat due to a sidebar in Dragon Magic I think. In the feats section somewhere.

Whoops... I guess he didn't overlook it at all... check out the 10th level "Lesser Apotheosis" ability:

Yea, that does not seem like a 10th level ability lol.

Item questions.

1) Regarding change in size: Do I buy medium items as normal(which would've been adjusted to large size as per the Racial Monster Class FAQ), or since the character is starting at Large Size, just go ahead and buy large sized items? I'm thinking that the rule in the FAQ is more for characters who started play at medium size and reached large size through play & progression.

2) With Large Size items, only the base price is doubled correct? Masterwork Cost & Special Materials(like mithril, adamantine, etc) costs stay the same? Sorry for the newbie question, first time I've really dealt with large items.

For example. Large Composite Longbow: Base Price: 200 + 300 for Masterwork + 100 for +1 Str to DMG bonus = 600gp

And Mithril Chain Shirt: Base Price: 200 + 1000 for Mithril(Masterwork included) = 1,200gp ?

Oh and <points to eariler question about poison tactic>  :D

I had meant to say I couldn't qualify until 10th level in the class. Regardless, seems like a big oversight, especially since DfA's get it at first level.

Venn, what do you think of me taking Crushing Stone as my fourth circle?

Yes, I agree.  Buy large items.  Honestly, craft them yourself.  ;)

Let's say that it's base price and special materials, but not masterwork.  So a large mithril chain shirt would cost 2200, but a large composite longbow would cost 700.

Heh nah, only craft ranks will be 5 alchemy(by 9th level) for Cultist pre-req.

Why 700? Str DMG Bonus cost doubled(200 per point of STR DMG, rahter than 100) as well? Aye, agree on special materials as well, after all it'd take more mithril to make a large chain shirt than a medium heh.

Probably just reapply ever 3 hours then, 10 or so arrows at a time. :D

First time actually employing poisons on weapons.

Venn, what do you think of me taking Crushing Stone as my fourth circle?

Seems like it's best for ranged lockdown, though we have a melee lockdown already from my understanding. Not bad, though, and can help keep enemies from reaching the squishier members of our team.

Hmm thinking about losing Gloves of Dex +2 to pick up Weapon(Warning) & Shield(Deathward) Enchantments along with a Healing Belt(pretty much 6d6 Healing per day). Thoughts?

Thinking I should keep the gloves and just wait. Though the lack of a form of self-healing, I really don't like.

Though the best defense if usually a good offensive. Leaning heavily towards keeping gloves.

Other than misc. adventuring gear, pretty sure my Yuan-Ti is fairly complete.

Have any advice for what the group could use more?  Roaring Tide gives me debuffs and bfc, Astral Essence gives me buffs and debuffs, and Natural Balance gives me healing, buffs, and bfc.  Maybe I should grab a big damage one?

I think the highest damage ones are probably the elemental circles. If you want, you could always grab one of the ones I don't get, so we can work together more efficiently. I'm still not sure between Detereorating Corrosion, Searing Flame, or Perfect Freeze.... Of the lot, Searing Flame can provide the most damage, for the whole team even, especially with its spellshape aura. There others are more situational, though Perfect Freeze will make enemies secretly hope they don't hit us a lot. :D

Detereorating Corrosion could prove useful in a dungeon setting, dealing double damage to objects, but it's still situational. Still, it's got good damage and has a lot of debuffing.

The only one I'm not considering is Shocking Current. I like electricity damage as an energy type, and it's got some fun abilities, but... You know what, I just talked myself back into considering it. >_<

Anything specific you think would be good for me with the buffing theme I seem to be going with?

Actually, looking back, I think Blustering Gale might give you what you're looking for and it was on the list of circles you were considering. It's got some good damage, but primarily it's because it has a lot of buffing in its formulae. I'd say that's your last circle.

Alright, so Astral Essence, Roaring Tide, Natural Balance, and Blustering Gale.  Roaring Tide and Natural Balance both do piercing damage, but I guess I can live with that.

Spellshape attacks are all spell-like abilities, so you don't have to worry about DR. In that regard, bludegoning/slashing/piercing are all about as good as untyped damage.

That...doesn't sound right to me, but I'm not finding anything to contradict it.  Huh.

Edit: Except for this line in the spellshape attack itself.  Finally, surging jet counts as a magic weapon.  It might be a spell-like, but it attacks as a weapon and I'm pretty sure that DR matters for it.

I shall ask DonQ, as he may want to clarify in the rules once he decides how it was meant to work.  My gut instinct is that DR should apply because otherwise, who cares about what type the damage is if it isn't energy?  But I'll ask.

So, I'm taking both Monster Blooded and Monster Hybrid so I can take a monster class and get a size boost next level. However, I'm not sure which monster to go with. There are a lot that prove to be good one level dips, intentional or not. Currently looking at a few but not sure what to go with. I'll probably ask for some advice once I get home from orientation at my new job. :D
