wth North Carolina?

Every single member of that family that wasn't the daughter needs a bullet to the brain.

Several. In rapid succession. And by bullet I mean mortar.

http://sploid.gizmodo.com/what-the-heck-would-eat-a-9-foot-great-white-shark-1586991095

Answer: A 16 foot great white shark.

I can't help but question the tone of those articles, as the shark measurements seem off. Wikipedia (I know) says that mature great whites can grow up to 21', with unconfirmed reports out there of 26' sharks. So calling a 16 footer 'colossal' seems a bit hyperbolic.

I think the one about the rats is a bit strongly worded of an article title.  I mean, they pretty much have to have some sort of decision-making capacity in order to learn to survive, but I'm not convinced what the scientists here are calling "regret" is the kind of thing people go through.

Apparently the local news is now warning parents to not let their children view/know about Slender Man, lest they become serial killers.

90 000 members from Iraq army desert rather than face insurgents, that are now marching in direction to Baghdad.

It seems like earlier this week some other 30 000 Iraq army members ran away from some 800 insurgents.

Seriously, who's been training those guys? In either side? It's not like the insurgents have heavy artillery or tanks or airplanes to justify such kind of routs. The supposedly official Iraq military seems to have negative loyalty to the government if they aren't willing to fight infantry while benefiting of overwhelming numeric advantage.

To be fair, they've been doing stuff like this for a while.

But well, in those cases they were surrendering against opponents with superior tech-drones in the first place, heavy artillery in the second.

Now they're surrendering en masse against basic enemy infantry. They've degenerated even further. One would logically expect the new guys in charge would learn from the mistakes of the previous, but I guess that's being way too optimistic.

The problem is that there's no sense of togetherness.  They're running because they want to be soldiers for the social standing as long as there isn't any war, and there's nothing they believe in strongly enough to defend.  If your whole life attitude is "fuck it, it's every man for himself" you'll always rout in a fight.

It's specifically his neighbors pool raft he finds sexually attractive.

Nah, fetish is common in some areas of Ohio.  When I was in restaurant management the place I was an assistant at let the local BDSM community hold munches there.  We also had the local gay and swingers hold meetings there so they could put out their newsletters and such.  And not incidentally because they spent a shitload of money since we were nice to them (ok we were the only ones nice to them).  Ohio is a very repressed society, and repression breeds weirdness.  There's a guy here in London who was arrested for being naked in public, smashing windows, cracked out of his mind, and fucking the exhaust pipes of cars.  He has a good lawyer so he got out after a year, and then promptly ended up naked, masturbating in the courthouse stairwell.  A year later they let him out and he immediately got freaky again.  Maybe it's why the internet doesn't bug me too much, I already live in a sea of strangeness.

Yeah, I know... I was mostly just trying to be funny... But you have to admit that pool floats seem like a pretty odd thing to be sexually attracted to... Especially to the point that you'd be repeatedly arrested for molesting them in public. :lmao
