I went to visit my parent's hometown because there was this local fair going on.

When I arrived I discovered they had secretly got this and this for me (the second one bought in a local sales-off for less than half regular price). Spent the day with this stupid grin of the face of childish happiness.

What can I say, they understand that I've always loved comic books and articulated plastic models.

To be honest, my father also loves both of those, he's an avid online reader, and every time I return home I can spot some new toy in his desk. :p

After months of  lab work, finally we managed to get our Magneto Optical Trap going for our first ultra-cold atom gas cloud! Sure it only lasts a few seconds for now, but it's a clear result we're doing something right!

I just spent the past couple of hours learning the typewriter that I got from my mom. I now know what every key does and for something that's around forty years old it only has one actual piece of damage. I'm very happy!

Congrats!

You should upload a scan of something you wrote with it, so we can see how it looks!
Also a pic of the actual typewriter itself.

I'll post a pic of the typewriter after I clean it.  The scan will be trickier due to not having a scanner and it needing new ribbon.

Do you have a smartphone? If so, then check out CamScanner. It's super useful.

I'll check it out.

Also the typewriter is now in need of repair, apparently I broke something cleaning it. :(

A female Downy Woodpecker just stopped for a snack about 10' away from me (OK, granted, it's outside and I'm inside, but still.)

Practically had Spider Climb, the way she was happily perching on the vertical portions of the tree.
