I feel badass. Today I managed to do 300 stomach crunches.

Hanging upside down.

While underwater.

i say you gotta start w/ ejecting earth from its orbit and developing a non solar environment. then once your out of the solar system you can try to work on the colonization thing.

was i the only one that had a flashback to space 1999 AND synnibarr with this?

While underwater.

somehow the water made this somewhat more believable for me. how was the breathing managed, i wonder?

Wouldn't being underwater make it easier due to buoyancy?

Not when you do it as fast as I do. Moving faster = body fights through water resistance.

While underwater.

somehow the water made this somewhat more believable for me. how was the breathing managed, i wonder?

When I reached the top, I breathed in.

It was actually fairly simple. First, I pulled my legs out of the water and placed them at the edge of the pool so my back was on the water and my legs were out. Then, deep breath, and shove myself backwards so that my back ended up straight against the wall of the pool, with my legs forming a 90 degree angle at the knee. then pull myself back up until my chest was up close to my knees. Deep breath again.

Rinse, lather, repeat.

While you're doing it, buoyancy makes it FEEL as though you're working less than you actually are. But a couple of hours after I was done, I could feel it was hard work.

Alas, the first thing on my mind for the women was "Manly hugs that will get your chest hair growin'.  But yeah, tears of unspeakable joy works better.  lol

Not really for me, but:
My brother, who has spent 7 years of his 31 in prison, has always had various issues with drugs (being born to a literal crack-whore didn't help), et alli

He managed to not only get a job working in a kitchen a 6-7 months ago (he's always been a good cook, and liked it), having worked his way up to being a manager even, as of early December, but now he has a job offer in Colorado to work at a game company.

For the record, despite his problems, my brother did more to raise me, teach me schoolwork, and everything else in my life (including buying me my 2nd edition rulebooks... when I was 3-4), than anyone else. He is more 'my parents' than my parents.

And now his life is all put together.

It is at times like these that I'm reminded just how wonderful brotherly love can be, and just how powerfully the will of a man can change his life.

Congratulations to your brother, arias.

It's et alii, though et cetera would be more appropriate here. Et alii is generally used for names.

That's awesome for him :D

Correct on the spelling, wrong on the usage. The main problem was my comma use, or lack there of. Plus I should have included more than one item of the list before defaulting out to the phrase.
Et alii = and others
Et cetera = and so forth
My brother, who has spent 7 years of his 31 in prison, has always had various issues, with drugs (being born to a literal crack-whore didn't help), et alli and others.

As to say, has other issues as well. In this case, I would be 'naming' the issues, but I short-handed it.  :p
Really, the two are quite interchangeable most of the time, with regards to their actual definitions.
At least I finally figured out when to use I.E. vs E.G. a few months ago.
This is all, however, quite minor to me, considering how "than" and "then" keep being more and more frequently misused for each other by other peoples. Whatever things I do wrong aren't that bad by comparison.

It is at times like these that I'm reminded just how wonderful brotherly love can be, and just how powerfully the will of a man can change his life.

Yeah, I'm really happy he's actually done it this time. The main thing is, it seems, is that each of the previous times he's tried to change for the better, he's had a lot of people trying to help him. It always ended badly for those offering aid, as he'd regress to old habits. This time, no one was really willing to help him as much, so he did it on his own, and that's what is making it 'stick'.
That, or just maturity from being 30-31 now. Probably a lot of that too.

Could always be a combination of both. Finding the right kind of drive sometimes isn't enough if you don't have the maturity to keep it going once the initial enthusiasm is gone.
