Now to wait for the official written statement, actually GET the money, and start paying back all the people who kept me alive this long.

Depending on what you qualify for medicare or medicaid (one of those two,i don't remember which since I have both) will pay back a chunk of that going back a limited time

In other news I have firmly decided that I will take THTR 106 (THTR 1013) - Introduction to Theatre. Three credit hours. The course includes the entire
process of producing a play, from the selection of script and auditions, publicity and ticket sales, through
the production and strike. Next semester and my midterm grades are A keyboarding/basic computer skills, B in english composition and an A in US history

Alright so a little over a month ago, I bought a new solid state drive for my desktop.  Something went wrong in the process of migrating my data over from my old hard drive, and I was unable to boot from either drive.  I ended up doing a clean installation of Windows onto the new drive, then just copying stuff over from the old drive as needed.  Frustrating, but workable.  The downside to this method was that the disk cloning software had wiped the product key off the old drive (presumably so that it could be re-used in the new one), so I was unable to activate Windows.  In order to re-activate, I would have to buy a whole new license.

But, this is the Happy Happy Joy Joy thread, so there's a good ending:  I called Microsoft Tech Support today, told them what happened, and they activated my copy for free!  20 minutes on the phone saved me about $100.  Plus I had a cool conversation with the tech support guy.  He lives in India (of course), but will be vacationing to an area near me in a month or so to do some skiing.  We talked about the best ski resorts, and he asked where he could get some authentic Indian food if he gets homesick.  Everything turned out better than expected  :thumb
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

It's snowing!

My area is acting like the wrong season entirely.

Last year we had snow on Halloween - this year, we a had a sprinkling in the middle of October... but it has essentially been T-Shirt weather since then.

It was t-shirt weather for a bit last week.  Now it's actually tempting me to put the insulation back in my coat.  Almost.

After over a year of unemployment I'm probably going to get a job tomorrow!   :D

It's asking surveys over the phone but it pays decent and has flexible hours so I can still keep looking for a job that actually uses my degree/work experience.

...I just got offered an amazing job with great pay/benefits but it is in a different state and now I'm freaking out because the thought of moving my life is so stressful...

I learned that the last time I moved for a job, it's why I have been unemployed for a year.   :banghead

The offer letter is sitting in my inbox, I have to have a decision made by Tuesday.  I'm avoiding thinking about it, my subconscious can figure out what I want to do.

I'm taking the job.

In a couple of weeks I'll be moving to New Mexico and making a large amount of money working for the government.   :D

...that sounded way more suspicious/cooler than it is.  Nothing top secret for me.   :P
