In theory I may has job.  The local Everdry Waterproofing Company is hiring for part time appointment setters.  I need to set 8 appointments every 2 weeks to make the grade and remain employed.

The caveat to all this is the end of the interview.  The interviewer said she was from the Cleveland branch filling in for the regular interviewer because she'd just had a close death in the family and probably wouldn't be back till Wednesday at the earliest.  I should call by then if i haven't heard from her, and classes probably wouldn't be scheduled till the following Monday to give her time for bereavement.  Every other time I've been told 'we'll call you' in some form or other, I don't have a job when i call.  I seemed to do well at the interview though I'm not hedging my bets that i passed it...

My girlfriend watched the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender with me last night on DVD--and she liked it!

I have chosen wisely.  :p

Dude even if i get this i have no illusions about keeping the job.  I'm neither a salesman nor a people person, and im sure the figure they quoted me about 1 appointment a day is bullshit.  I expect to have it a month or two, which will keep me in some petty amount of money until others are hiring.  I''ve done jobs like this before making requests for charity and i suck at it.

A job's a job, and you need the money, right? I'm hoping you can find something you can keep and that doesn't kill you for doing it.

The car has stopped making noise and the mechanic can find nothing wrong with my wheel bearing.  He's unsure hwats up, but is finally fixing the massive exhaust leak i have.

Got call from stats who wish to start me at local kmart 'frenching' the shelves.  In other words putting stuff back where it belongs, straightening up, making it look pretty.  Once i get down where everything is they'll try me at unloading truck and stocking...despite my telling them i have back problems.  Not sure this is gonna go well...

I have had a run of really bad luck for the last couple of weeks, including spilling soda on my MacBook less than an hour ago.  That said, it survived!

Yay for small victories.

You might be able to get a doctor's note to the effect of not lifting anything over a certain weight.  You should look over their terms, especially the fine print, just in case they have rules that you have to be able to do heavy work like lifting and crap.

I was up till 1:30 AM last night working on a report for work. It was for the CSO, which is my boss' boss' boss. So I'm pretty far down on the food chain. Of course, this request wasn't given to me directly by the CSO, but instead from my boss, who was asked for it by his boss, etc... I think both my boss and his boss were a bit nervous about it, to be honest...

I was pretty creative in coming up with how to crunch the data, and got a "great job, that was a really smart way to do it" from my boss, a "great job" from his boss, and my name dropped in the email that finally went to the CSO with my report. It almost makes it worth working till 1:30 in the morning. Hopefully it will eventually lead to some more money and/or a promotion, though. :D

Back from 4 days of snowboarding. I'm tired as hell, sore from the constant workout and very pleased with myself as I have finally grasped the art of doing grab-tricks. Next season I think I will try rotation  :D

Went to a live rock concert last night on invite from the bass teacher at the music school where I take singing lessons. It was really damn awesome. I hadn't been to a concert in a while, and the band was just incredible. Supposedly they were mostly winging it since they had little time for practice. Makes me think what'd happen if they DID have time to practice...
