Definitely awesome when using the strict definition of the word, but I've never seen such a sobering info-graphic video. :<
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QGH08OyQXg4#t=111sJapan's March 11th earthquake. Very effective use of data, video and sound to tell just how devastating that earthquake was, not to mention its nigh thousand aftershocks (<1.0 excluded) that tortured the sanity of the survivors for months and months to come. The charts at the beginning and end are great too.
I'm a little curious, anyone know if Japan (or parts of it) moved west or east or if it gained any elevation? I heard some silty areas sunk due to soil liquefaction, but with the way the plates are moving I always imagined such a powerful seismic event would move the country up a bit, even if but a few inches.
