Best Class for low stats

I need to build a character but have roll the following stats:

11, 12, 14, 14, 11, 10

Starting 1st level I was thinking a High Elven Abrupt Jaunt Wizard who maximizes survivability so he can begin to way waste to opponents at later levels.

Can anyone think of a better class and race to boost these stats and make a more viable character? Other players rolled stats with up to +14 modifiers so I want to try to be viable.

I second Druid.  Put your 14s in Con and Wis, take Natural Spell at 6th, and you'll be set.

Can never have enough druids.

Other than that, an Abrupt Jaunt Conjurer is probably your best bet.

Druid is the only really stat-independent class, but any of the full casters could work, especially if you don't focus on save DC-dependent spells (they'll still work, just less often). You would probably be looking at a summoning based wizard for that end. Rather than Abrupt Jaunt, I suggest the Rapid Summoning variant, going into Malconvoker.

Wait, plus fucking fourteen modifier?!?!!!    Tell me that's also the DM's age.  Nothing else makes sense.

You could also try the Healer  and disguise the fact your stats suck by doing the one task that will make you popular at any table that winds up with such an absurd ability score spread.  You'll be bored out of your mind, but no one will notice you aren't doing anything useful.

I'm going to assume he meant total modifier (as in, something like 18 16 16 14 12 12), otherwise... yeah. 
On topic: 
Pick a Tier 1 or 2 caster (probably not archivist or other dual-stat caster).
Put the 14's in the primary casting stat, and in Con. 
Get access to Polymorph or similar stat-replacing ability ASAP.

For extra cheese, apply Tainted Scholar.  Then even your spells that allow saves will rock face. 


If you don't want to be a full caster, Dragonfire Adepts only really need Con.

You could use dragonwrought kobold for +3 to mental stats. 

You could play a muckdweller (Serpent Kingdoms, p71) and take an albatross (Stormwrack, p52/165) as your familiar.  Combining one of the few tiny races with one of the few small familiars lets you ride it.  An albatross has a fly speed of 50 feet, so you might be able to keep out of harm's way.

Does a Kobold's Slight Build feature let it ride a Small mount?  If so, you could combine both of Maat Mons' ideas.

also, for forgetting to mention Dragonwrought Kobold.  I totally was going to suggest that in conjunction with Dragonfire Adept.  So much Dragon flavor!

Yeah, primary spell caster or shapechanger is the way to go.  Honestly, you should be fine if you wanted to play the High Elven Conjurer.  Your save DCs won't be great, but ... who cares?  I don't even think you'd need Polymorph, just page through the God Wizard handbook. 

Dragonfire Adept isn't bad, either.  And a sneaky Wizard is another high-survival build, though a little more complicated (especially if starting at 1st level).  Really, all the suggestions in this thread are solid.

Focused conjurer wizard--> Master Specialist---> Paragnostic Apostle --> Malconvoker would be my recommendation. You don't need high DCs is you focus on summoning and save: no BFC spells.

You know, you have another option as well.  You have a lot of melee going on, so you could think about playing a DFI Bard.  Stay out of trouble and buff your allies.

I had fun once with a halfling druid with the elemental companion option. Took the slight trait and buffed the elemental's str so it could carry me and then had it fly me around the battlefield in its arms.

My guy wore a red poncho, had a wood train whistle, and the touch of healing reserve feat and fancied himself a paramedic. Was really wanting to get a ring of feather fall to put the Para into Paramedic.

This would let you play a druid as well and not step on the toes of a stereotypical one.

Both of these are fine suggestions. The only stat you need as a Dragonfire Adept is Con. So by picking a race with a very high Con, you can do well with those stats. Something like an Arctic Mongrelfolk. Take the Entangling Exhalation feat and you can be the party's "battlefield control" guy. You won't quite be able to fulfill the role of the "god wizard", but you can manage fairly well.

I vote for Lesser Dragonborn Arctic Ooze Para-Genasi. You can swing a 22 in constitution that way, plus a breath weapon so you can qualify for meta-breath feats. A solid tier 3.

Your next rolls will liekly be better.
