Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself,
« on: November 09, 2011, 05:24:35 PM »
I'm Kalas ka' Agathas, but you can call me KA (it's much simpler).  I was kalaskaagathas back on BG (and 339 before that), and am Kalaska'Agathas on GitP.  So yeah, same poster.

As far as games go, I like D&D, primarily 3.5, Pathfinder, or some Chimera of the two.  I've played 2nd AD&D and a little White Box as well.  Beyond that, I enjoy Shadowrun (specifically SR4), WoD (I've played old WoD, and the rules to new WoD look alright, I guess...), Seventh Sea, Risus, and Star Wars (specifically SAGA).

And that's pretty much that.  It's good to be here.

Pardon my asking but did you get your name from the Anne Bishop books?

Nope.  I was trying to render "καλός καγαθός (kalos kagathos)" which is Attic Greek for "The Beautiful and the Good" and a phrase the citizens of Athens would use to refer to themselves.  Unfortunately, I joined these boards at a time when my Greek wasn't particularly good, and I didn't take the time to check whether "kalaskaagathas" was in the proper form.  It isn't - there is a spurious "a" in "kaagathas" and it is rendered in the Feminine Plural Accusative, rather than the Masculine Singular Nominative.  But, of course, it's the name I've been using for years (at BG, in my brief time on 339, and at GitP), so I'm not sure I'd want to change it.  And, frankly, most people aren't going to know what it is, let alone that it has an extra "a" or is in a gender and number which doesn't match my own (and makes me into a direct object), so I'm not terribly worried about it.
