I'm conferring with Tshern a bit. I don't want to hold you guys back, as I have a ways to go with either character. He and I may start a different team. Sorry, I thought someone had mentioned it.

If I can't get a hold of Tshern (unlikely) or he's not up for it, though, I'll put in to finish one double time. If I'm lucky, then by the end of the day or early tomorrow morning. Did you guys want Jack the Scary Monster, or Cornelia the Scary Healer Girl (and her warcrafter cohort)?

This turned out to be an amazing amount of work. I would appreciate any help that anyone would like to lend so that it can get done faster. I've been working on Cornelia and company all day, every day. A lot of that time has been spent racking my brain on feat selections, but I am getting a lot of things worked out.

I noticed we don't really have a designated party face, so I put a little work into that, and now I can muster up a +25 on a diplomacy check via Cornelia. I also bought a permanent accommodation; it's an average shop which has been turned into a guildhouse. Took a pretty chunk of gold to make that happen, but our characters have a place with a door that locks to retreat to, should they need it. I also purchased 40 Ffion white fang insignia patches. Every character, cohort, follower and thrall should be able to have one. I just want to make sure I don't need to buy more, though, so for starters... I'll be using 25 of those insignias for Cornelia and her cohort and followers. Are the remaining 15 going to be enough for the rest of you?

Also, I suggest you add those to your characters on my behalf, they are your ticket to the 7d8+35 healing bomb that gets dropped up to once per 3 rounds.

I don't know if that's enough because I don't know what they are. :)

Can you link to or reference where I can find info on those?

They're for using Insignia of Healing.  It's just 10gp a pop, and anyone wearing the insignia within long range gets healed.

Insignia of Healing is basically Mass Cure Light Wounds as a 3rd level spell that affects everyone in long range (instead of only 1/level in a 30 foot diameter within close range), at the cost of preparation (insignias) and not really being able to harm undead enemies. It's in Races of Destiny, if you're curious (along with some other fun spells and even stronger versions of Celerity and Anticipatory Strike than are printed in CPsi).

How are you getting the equivalent of seven CL 5 castings every 3 rounds?

By my count you've got exactly enough.

Zook has 1 PC, 1 cohort, 8 followers
Venn and Samnemath have 1 PC each
I have 1 PC, 1 cohort, 1 Kaorti Thrall.

10+2+3=15.

If SorO shows up you'll need one extra.

Of course, the followers won't be coming into battle with us, will they? Your lv3 Iron Golem, yeah, but anyone lower level than that will probably get squished.

Hey Drammor... how do you have a staff of CL 5 mental pinnacle?  MP is a 6th-level spell.

Winthrop has a wand of a insignia of healing. When he casts, he uses an Impromptu Virge combo to essentially negate the cost of the use. Then, because Cornelia can have 7 different characters in her worldthought network (including herself), and because worldthought medics' networks allow healing to be shunted elsewhere even if you have full hp, the 7 characters in her network (presumably the PCs + 2 cohorts) will be able to combine the healing and direct each point exactly where it needs to go.

By my count you've got exactly enough.

Good... if SorO shows up, I've still got enough money to buy his insignia plus his cohort, if he has one... actually, some of Cornelia's followers are being built with high level (relatively) combat in mind, in which they serve predefined, auxiliary roles. But if most followers aren't coming with us, then I have absolutely plenty of insignias, which is good.

Hey Drammor... how do you have a staff of CL 5 mental pinnacle?  MP is a 6th-level spell.

It's a dreamstained item. Dreamstained items have 1/4 the cost and 1/2 the CL. 11/2=5.5, rounded down, =5. They also inflict a Fort save daily or deal 1 Constitution damage on their owners. Having more than one can be extremely dangerous. Also... I went back to double check the price of that purchase, and I think I overpriced it by about 360 gold. Not that I mind, though...

The more bodies in combat the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. The more of us there are, the more mileage I get out of my rituals.

Zook's followers will be staying home minding the store, I believe, so that's 8 spare insignia if you need them.

And most of Cornelia's followers will probably never see combat (although most of them are being built for the possibility of being selected for missions), so we'll probably never run out of insignias.

I did a little shuffling around on the NPC list. Natali is 2nd level, Kossor is 1st. Do you know any classes that are better at going undetected at level 1 than rogue? She's not ever supposed to see actual combat. In fact, we shouldn't really have a reason know she's in the room, most of the time.

The other characters appearing on Cornelia's battle roster are Winthrop, Tink, Revan the shield guardian, and Uru the kobold spellshaper.

Cornelia is your healer. She should never get into melee, but if she does, she can suck 17 hit points out of her attacker and give it to herself and/or others every round. Six times per day, if you're down on hp and need them, you can spend a standard action to ask her to heal you, and she can give them to you for 3 hp per 1 pp as a free action. You don't need to wait for her turn to get healed. If you're down by 13 hp and ask for her healing, and she gives you 15 hp, you can send the 2 you don't need to another character. She'll most likely get the PCs started in combat with battlesense. She can do a couple other things, too. You might appreciate the fact that she can manifest vigor on you, even though it's normally a personal power.

Revan's purpose is to stop Cornelia from taking damage. He won't be doing much of anything, ever. Except getting in the way of characters trying to harm his charge. Cornelia might second him to another NPC in need of short-term cover and protection.

Uru is riding Tink (your argument is invalid). His job is to use his arcane formulae to be a damn frustrating bastard to our enemies on command, and otherwise to wait for something to hurt Tink so he can peg him with 1d8 fire damage as a quick but small heal.

Tink's job is to stand there and look ugly, and to provide all of his adjacent allies with a +4 bonus on AC and Ref saves. Additionally, if anything gets close enough to him, he'll unleash a full attack of 2d6+5 and 2d6+5 with his slam attacks, with no penalty on the iterative attack.

The standard battle arrangement for Cornelia's company looks like this:

C = Cornelia
W = Winthrop
R = Revan
T = Tink
u = Uru
n = Natali

The top side is the direction Cornelia is facing. Why aren't Natali and Uru's initials capitalized? Because they're not supposed to be in direct combat with other characters. As you can see, Tink has a couple of slots around him that are still open. Feel free to assign a character to one of those slots to gain his protective bonuses, should you desire it. Be aware that he can't move more than 20 feet per round on his own, and even then he needs a swift action to activate his boots to get that going. Without the bonus from his boots, he's stuck with 10 feet per round.

Something important about Cornelia: currently, her worldthought network can only reach out to a 40 foot radius around her, and her steal health attack is melee-only and does only 17 damage. At the next level, her network will improve to 170 feet, and she'll be able to steal health from up to 30 feet away for 19 damage. Also, she'll be able to trade in her soulbound gauntlets at that point for... probably... a better periapt of wisdom, so her steal health may bump up to 20 damage.

Sorry if she's lagging behind a little right now. It can't be helped.

Edit: Speaking of teamwork, there's a kaorti cocoon item that Uru could really benefit from during round that he's not being actively engaged. Tink could use the cocoon as a sort of backpack which Uru hides inside until he's needed (and should be no worse for initiative, as Cornelia can direct him via telepathy). Is that something you can make?

That combat setup looks formidable. We'll have to see where the rest of the party fits in.

Is the coccoon item you're talking about the one from Oslecamo's Kaorti? If so, I can whip one of those up no problem. I'm not sure if there are rules for what happens when someone tries to attack a character inside the coccoon but we can figure that out, I'm sure.

The soulmelds you can get as a level 1 Totemist can boost your skills equivalent to far more than the extra 16 skill points a 1st level Rogue would get. There's one soulmeld that gives +4 to Hide and Move Silently and an extra +2 per essentia, for example (Kruthik Claws, I think).

Since homebrew is big here (and this one's on the pre-approved list for this game, anyways), take a level of Soulknife instead. Only 4+Int skill points, but Hide and Move Silently are on the list. Nab the Concealing Amorpha invocation and you have all-day concealment, letting you hide out in the open as long as nobody notices you. Then take Shape Soulmeld (Kruthik Claws) to pump your stealth skill checks anyways.

Uhh. Hmm... that soulnife... is really good. If it weren't for he daughter of silence's ability to become incorporeal, I'd just go with azurin and take soulknife 1/totemist 1.  :bigeyes

Also, i like the psionic minor creation power, so I 'might' change the one custom artificer to a psionic artificer. But I need to look closely tmw. Either way it won't actually change anything combat-wise
