[3.P] Spell to reduce size

I'm looking for a spell that would reduce a creature's size by one step. Reduce Person doesn't work, because the creature is an outsider. Getting smaller is all I need, preferably without changing its Str, Dex and Con.

Well if you do not mind changing to a new form. Alter Self works if you can find an outsider form of a size smaller that you like.

Other than polymorph-type spells, the only one I can think of is minute form (Complete Arcane).  It's personal range, so I don't know if it works for your specific application. 

If a power will suffice, there's compression.  This is also personal range. 

If an item will suffice, there's the ring of shrinking (Savage Species).

STEAL SIZE - 2nd level. Will the character in question be casting, or have it cast upon him? If he's casting, then this one works.

AQUATIC ESCAPE - Turns you into a Diminutive fish
BALEFUL POLYMORPH - Turn someone else into a tiny fish.
DRAGONSHAPE, LEAST - You become a psuedo-dragon
SPIDER SHAPES - Turn into a spider, duh
WINGED WATCHER - Turn into an owl.

Unfortunately alter Self doesn't exist in my games. And I just want to reduce in size, not change form.

It will be an item. Also in my games all spells can be cast on another creature, there's no "Personal only" spells.

There is a ring in Lords of Madness that reduces a creature's size by 1 category, regardless of creature type.  It is an "always on" kind of ability, but it does bring with it the -2 STR / +2 DEX that comes with Reduce Person.  The ring costs like 20,000 GP .

Aren't you thinking about Savage Species or some other book? Because I looked and there's no such item in LoM.

the only way i know to 'change size' without changing ability scores and not using alter self w/ an illusion.

i doubt thats what your looking for...

I didn't see how small you were wanting to go but this is from Arms and Equipment. It may be intended for an animal but couldn't hurt to run past your DM.

Shrink Collar: Rather than resizing to fit its wearer, as most wearable magic items do, this half-inch-wide metal collar studded with tiny jewels resizes its wearer. When worn, the collar grows to 2 inches wide, and the jewels enlarge to cover most of its surface. Regardless of his or her original size, the wearer shrinks to Small size, becoming around 3 feet in height and weighing no more than 60 pounds. None of the creature’s other attributes change. Unwilling targets get a Fortitude save (DC 11) to resist. If the save is successful, the collar snaps and is ruined.
A creature with Intelligence 2 or lower must succeed on a Will save (DC 11) or become panicked by the transformation. Animal companions do not have to make this save, nor do creatures that have the effect of the collar explained to them beforehand somehow, such as through telepathy or speak with animals.
Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, reduce; Market Price: 10,000 gp; Weight: 1 lb.

You never stated what your original size was....

Solved, without a way to keep your stats other then an illusion. This collar now solves it with a way to keep stats... Your welcome...

Because I needed something that works regardless of my original size.
Being limited to Small size only? No thanks.
