This thread is still titled "Things that make you League of Legends."

<link deleted>  it george and weezy!

FYI, I clicked on the link, and my AVG reported a virus (Exploit Blackhole Exploit Kit Detection (type 1889) to be precise).  Hopefully, it's just a false positive.

There are both good and bad. Don't condemn a thing just because the worst examples get the most publicity. Especially when the reality of it is that those bad examples are actually the minority.

The link was fine for me bhu.

This is why I hate homeschooling

There are both good and bad. Don't condemn a thing just because the worst examples get the most publicity. Especially when the reality of it is that those bad examples are actually the minority.

Homeschooling is more susceptible to this sort of thing by a long shot than private schooling, which is slightly more susceptible (note: very slightly) than public schooling.

I've seen what homeschooling does.  It's not pretty...

Oh, and note: this is religious homeschooling.  Not normal homeschooling.  There is a difference.  And it's a big one.

*Thinks, "I am not religious, much less a religious nutbag / idiotic zealot"*
*Thinks about other Home-schooled friends*
*Thinks about other Home-Schooled people met who were the stereotype*

*Thinks about how Dman referenced having met the bad examples, but doesn't realize is talking to someone who went through a good program, because you don't notice that someone is a good product, they don't stand out like the bad ones do.*

I stand by my opinion. It is based on my personal experiences with many people from many different home-school programs, as well as research into the facts about home-schooling and the various programs.
Your opinion is based on personal experiences too. Thus I do not expect to change it. None-the-less, you have still claimed to hate something based on what I suspect to be experience with what is, in truth, only a small sub-set of people from the whole set.
Which is a decision process I cannot observe without at least making a modicum of an attempt to bring up the larger picture. Which I have done.

That is the end of my 2cp.

Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

For that matter, I attended Christian private schools for most of my school life, and aside from some bullshit on so-called Religion classes (basically trying to classify forms of love, among other idiotic stuff) we never had to contend with much in terms of stupidity. (I've heard it's gotten bad since they started teaching Creationism, though. Luckily it's not exclusive.)

Anyway, religion "zealots" run the gamut, homeschooled or not. I've known very devout people who nonetheless are incredibly reasonable, running counter to stereotype.

I'm talking homeschooling, and not talking absolutist.  And I commend your parents for doing a good job then ariasderros.  But my old neighbors, these people, the other times I've heard homeschooling abused badly, I think you're in the minority.... And you are added to the list I already have of good examples.  So yes, I already had examples of good execution.  I know they exist.

Okay, let me put it this way: I know there are people who homeschool their kids solely because they think the anti-christ atheist amoral liberal nutjob (or conservative nutjobs, or whatever) are corrupting their kids in school.  So they, completely untrained, attempt to educate their children.  This is a problem.  There are a myriad of problems I have with homeschooling though, and this is not one of the most major ones, in fact (I have more faith in our public school system's potential than most, actually).  I won't get into them, because this is the laughs thread....

@bhu and veekie: yes.

New stuff from Mr. Welch:

2076.  If I'm commissioned to build an artillery gun, they don't mean a gun that fires howitzers.
2082.  No matter how successful, our party has to be more than a wizard and 5 pikemen.
2090.  The following are not real Cyberpunk festivals: Night City Comiccon, The Killit Festival, Grenadeapalooza.
2093.  Can't trick the dragon into swallowing a shrunken dire porcupine and then ending the spell while he swallows.
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

You do know you could've skipped all those religion classes and no one could've given you any bullshit because of it, right? It's not on the MEC obligatory disciplines list.(Ministry of Education here in Brazil for those unfortunate for not living here...)

They couldn't flunk you, they couldn't do anything... And if they tried you could even sue them for not respecting your beliefs (or lack thereof).

Seems to be a false positive, or at least, not an easily repeatable positive. Probably one of the cycling ads got infected, that's been a problem lately(and I suppose infecting an ad provider does wonders for virus reach).

Adblock should solve the issue.

Eh, no one ever flunked religion class unless they ass-raped the teacher or something. Was a good period to catch up on sleep.

Well, I tried it again today, and had no problem.  Whatever it was seems to have resolved itself.
