ooh this one would be nasty later, though...
If you want it, I'll allow it.
But... Nasty how?
Give up 2d6 from Energy Bolt in order to deal 1 Con damage.
Even though it stacks (duh, it's just damage to a score, not a penalty), you'd have to expend additional psionic focuses in order to use it on additional powers. I'm not sure this beats out Empower or Maximize for being a worthwhile expenditure of the focus.
EDIT:
Just noticed this post from RoC:
BTW, the main reason I'm willing to allow +1 per 4 ranks and not the mind blade feat granting 1/2 level (instead being 1/2 level -1), is because of Mind Blade Gauntlets. Which could get quite powerful when re-done as dynamic or ancestral relic items, especially since they are additive with their abilities.
So you're not going to allow the Mind Blade feats from Dreamscarred Press? What are Mind Blade Gauntlets?
The bonus from the Mind Blade feats is capped by a chart based on your character level, or half the # of Mind Blade feats you have, which ever is lower. Here is the table (not sure it will copy/paste correctly, but it is here):
Edit: Oh Christ that was a mess... Anyway, the bonus is capped at +1 enhancement bonus per two character levels (so you can't get a +10 weapon till level 20), or the # of Mindblade feats you have, whichever is lower.
If you think that's too high, what would be OK?
What I'd said previously:
I linked them in my earlier post, but just a brief summary:
[...]
So it basically takes the Soulknife and turns it into a (very big) feat chain, rather than a class (although the class still exists, and can benefit from many of these feats).
I'd have to look at it a lot more in-depth then. I can tell you already that the limit would be the same as that of a Soulknife would have.
That is to say, [(level / 2) -1] would be the limit, not just (level / 2). Though the limit would still be the lesser of that or your number of feats. And the reasoning for making it 'weaker' is because it could be so easy to boost it up by
a lot with the gauntlets, which 'track' separately from the limiters.
The gauntlets are in the MIC. They're expensive as heck, like 50k for the ones that add a +3 property, but that's what they do. Say you've got Mind Blade Gauntlets that have been made with Collision. Now any Mind Blade you manifest has that property.
Now think of how that blends with the houserules here. Properties add enhancements.
Or how neither Dynamic items or Ancestral Relics have to deal with the layering costs. How many Properties do you think you can fit into Ancestral Relic Mind Blade Gauntlets by level 20? Answer: enough to get a DMG to the head if you really used it for loading up on that.
