Sorcerer bloodlines
« on: November 03, 2012, 01:43:07 AM »
I was a fan on bloodlines for all characters when I played them briefly in 3.5.  I'm intrigued by the bloodlines for the Sorcerer class in PF.  Are their penalites, or is it even possible to take more than one bloodline?

OK, answered my own question in about 5 minutes.  Found the cross-blooded description.  Here's another question though, I thought that Empyreal was a bloodline, but I see that it is more of an archtype.  It says that the associated bloodline is Celestial.  Does that mean that you automatically get the Celestial bloodline if you take Empyreal Sorcerer, or can you still choose a different one?

The various Wildblooded archetypes are pretty much just alternative powers in the bloodlines. If you take them, you have to take the associated bloodline. In practical terms, this makes it less compatible with other sorcerer archetypes, which may have been their intention. Or perhaps they just didn't like the cleric model for this.

I figured that out too after looking around a little more.  I am thinking about going Crossblooded with Empyreal (Celestial) and Draconic.  The Empyreal gives up the wings gained by the Celestial bloodline at 9th level, but the Draconic gives them back at 15 I think.  Plus, Draconic gives you a decent unarmed melee attack.  This is most applealing to me because I am looking at multiclassing this Sorcerer with Zen Archer Monk (applies WIS to ranged attacks made with a bow instead of DEX) and I like the idea of combining the natural dragon attacks with Monk abilites for when the enemy gets up close and personal.  Seems like a great synergistic combo to me.
