About the Walmart Strikes
« on: November 21, 2012, 01:01:57 AM »
First off, good for them.  I've worked there before (well, Sam's Club, same thing really) and I know their troubles.  If you're not aware of it, Walmart employees are going on strike for Black Friday in hopes of hitting them hard in the wallet.  Couldn't be to a more deserving company.  Anyway, seems like one will be near my location too.  That's good, I try to avoid Walmart shopping when I can anyway for all the other good reasons not to.  But I had this idea as I worked tonight.

If I see them, I'm gonna buy them a pizza.

They'll probably be out picketing or something.  They'll probably be hungry.  And frankly I support them.  So I figure, why not, buy them a pizza and get my karma for the day.

Normally I wouldn't bother tooting my own horn like that, but I figure maybe if I brought it up if there's anyone else out there who runs into these protesters this Black Friday, maybe you would like to give them a pizza to help them through the day.  Its pretty late, but maybe I'll start something.
Mudada.

I'm hoping it doesn't backfire on them.  Wal-Mart has a massive turnover rate after all, so they might be able to fire and hire.  They'll still lose plenty of money on it of course, and the media attention... Is going to be interesting to look at.

Especially given the large numbers of people still unemployed. The main negative will be media attention, but I'd never even heard of this till seeing this thread, so...
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.
