Becoming an Orc
« on: November 22, 2012, 01:28:54 AM »
Is there a feat or other feature somewhere that would allow a non-orc to become an orc or count as an orc for meeting prerequisites?

So you can take the Orc Warlord prestige class, for example.

I'm not so sure about Reincarnate and Last Breath. Sure, they do change you to an orc, but then you might as well have created an orc character in the first place if you're being an orc to meet prerequisites.

It IS a way around the Orc and Half-Orc's appalling mental stats, if you like the fluff of Orcs/Half-Orcs but not their mechanical adjustments.

If you and your DM are willing to houserule, Mongrelfolk could be argued to qualify for the Changeling Racial Emulation feat (though for different reasons). They are part-everything, after all.

Be a tanarukk.  Outsider (which has it's own advantages), but counts as an Orc.  It does have LA though.

Savage Species page 148: Ritual of Association.

It can grant you the Orc subtype, though it's expensive. If all you want to do is get into a PrC, this is a way that won't interfere with your build (beyond wealth). Even has an LA of +0.

Wow, that's perfect. Pricey, but exactly fitting the requirement, as anybody can use it. I suppose that this question is resolved, then, unless there is another one somewhere. But yeah, great, thank you!
