Planar Shepherd of the Plane of Shadow
Oooo.... Druid 5/Planar Shepherd 10/Talontar Blightlord 5

Full Druid casting, animal companion of a 15th level druid, wildshape of a 15th level druid, Blightbringer prestige domain, and your animal companion has the Blightspawned template, giving its natural weapons a disease attack, making them stronger and tougher, and immune to crits (type becomes plant).  You are also immune to all diseases.  Add all the additional goodies from planar shepherd on top of that....  Oh, and you can wear metal armor.

Not bad.

OK, I'm really digging that Eldermagus class I linked above. I found an online source that has all of the warlock invocations. Are these all "legit", or is this a homebrewed expansion? I didn't recognize some of htem.

Plus the shadow creature template turns any corporeal creature into a magical beast.  Those two items that increase WS HD can get you back up to at least 20HD.  IIRC one is +4(an amulet?) and the other is from Dragon Mag

Yes, those are all official warlock invocations.  It's missing some of them though such as Eldritch Glaive.  Chances are the list is simply Complete Arcane + Mage and doesn't include the ones from Cityscape, Dragon Magic, or Drow of the Underdark.  I wouldn't be surprised if a few other books had new invocations.

No way is that a Warlock or Dread Necromancer. That's totally a Death Master.

Looks legit to me. The invocation descriptions seem to cite sources, so you can always doublecheck them in addition.

That's the necromancy specialist base class from Dragon magazine, right?

Yep. It doesn't, however, suffer from the DN's overspecialization of. It has a very, very nice list, including gems like Dominate, Blasphemy, and Shapechange,

I just don't have access to that... I actually think the Bemäntelter Schatten by Amechra fits what I imagine best, of all that I've considered. I am not familiar with the Mysteries of Shadowcasters at all, though, nor whether his implementation of them as psionic powers for that class will save it from the fail I've heard the Shadowcaster is made of.

If we went with that, what would some good mysteries to choose be? The class does not have to take all the previous mysteries in a chain to take more advanced ones.

Shadowcaster mysteries are not particually bad. The class itself isn't great and suffers from a low number of uses/day but its probably still tier 3 or so...
