Well, the flood is over.  Some areas are still full of water, and many basements/underground parkades need to still be pumped dry, but the city is working hard to get things back to normal, in time for the Stampede on July 5th.

Also, last week, Calgary Mayor Nenshi wanted to invoke Darwin's Law.

Yep, doing just fine.  My home wasn't ever in any danger, and my work managed to escape unscathed (however, it was close).

Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

Algae Lamp

want!!

Yup, me too.  My favorite color is green as well so it's a nice bonus.

Which reminds me, I haven't used my lava lamp in ages...  Time to plug it in again!

Hey Kuro, I had a funny thought.  Can you keep up with the lyrics in this song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctxrnARif_Y

If you can get past the caps and sometimes bad spelling/grammar (dunno it it's intentional, though I'm kind of leaning to no), Film Crit Hulk makes some pretty nice points.

Borderlands meets D&D.

I just finished that DLC main story....it is so freaking sad!  I have no idea how to feel about it.  It's Borderlands, and it's humorous, and is really good (especially compared to the hunting trip DLC), but I felt this twinge of uncomfortableness throughout, because of how sad it was under the humor.  I've always felt a little uncomfortable, just a twinge of morose behind the whole story of both games and the DLCs (except the really off the wall stuff like Zombie Island of Dr. Zed or Treasure of the Sands), but this one is like the whole story has been building up pressure just to just erupt in one massive explosion of depression keying off the events in the main story.  Spoiler territory follows and I highly recommend not looking if you haven't finished the DLC and are planning on doing so.  This is not just a normal spoiler warning, seriously, if you're going to play it, and haven't finished the main story, do NOT read this.

So it just started raining.  Not just any rain, but I have a picture of where it was raining.  From where it wasn't yet raining.  There was a clear cut split between "dry" and "wet.

Heh, I've seen that a few times.  Best one was when I was driving to work (day before the flooding), torrential downpour where I was coming from, then about 2 blocks of bone-dry, then heavy rainfall again.

Alas, I have no photo sharing capabilities.  It's on my phone, so if anyone had a photo hosting service that's free and doesn't require hefty sign up...

And yeah, this rain, at one point it was dry where we were, wet at our end of the pond, and dry at the other end of the pond. This means the rain area was at most 50 feet wide at that point.
