Since you said rays spells the Complete Arcane suggests Precise Shot (to avoid the -4 for firing at an opponent engaged in melee) or Point Blank Shot, both are beneficial since ray spells are generally better chance to hit then normal. Read the class you are playing seems cool.

Ah, thanks. I didn't even think of that. Luckily I've got a massive orc to stand behind for combat so I think I'll check with the DM about the possibility of retraining feats first. As that feat would be beneficial for both my revolver and ray spells.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool class. Can't wait to smash out a few levels, get to the point where I can make doubles/triples/etc and pull off up to five spells in a single round.
