Marril, What of these three, the Storm Wolves as they are known. Would they be welcome to come along?" Everyn asks the acting captain. "That is, if you wish to accompany us, I know you have friends and family you wish to lay to rest soon."

Marril nods his head with the realization that the Storm Wolves also stood with the people of Loudwater and lost those close to them, "Yes, I am sure the councilman would welcome any who wished to come. Especially those who stood with us last night. I also think he would understand if you wish to see to your dead first, I myself still have some good friends to say goodbye too as well."

The rest of the guards file in behind the group and Marril walks with you. Susteen limps along next to you. It's not long before he can't contain his inability to keep quiet.
"There was another in your group, I met him last night in the Tankard, right. Fancily dressed fellow by the name of Suq, right? Where is he, did he make it through the night?"

"Suq?  I think he wondered off to do... something.  Hard to tell with him, I find it best sometimes not to ask."

Atanos, feeling uncomfortable with the guards at his back, starts to slowly fall behind the rest of the group

Susteen flushes at the comments as he works out who that someone might be that Suq wandered off with.

It doesn't take long to reach the Troyas manor in town. There is a low wall that surrounds the grounds. Susteen lets you all inside and leads the group to a waiting area apparently outside an office. There are voices on the other side of the closed door.
Marril turns to you and says, "See you again soon, I have to go see to a prisoner that lived through last night." and he joins the rest of his contingent outside and they march off.

Susteen approaches the closed door and says, "I will tell Councilman Troyas you have arrived". Turns the handle and enters. A voice pours out of the open door clearly in the moment before it closes again, "Ye cannae be serious, The Counc....."

Søffå again looks at his companions:  "Prisoner, eh?  If this meeting does not go well, we might still find some answers from him."

"Fair enough, my friend.  Perhaps you should do the talking?  I am not the most skilled in such ways.  Where is Suq when you need him?"

Søffå looks around the area for anything such as a glass, vase, cup, etc. to make it easier to listen:

At a loss for finding something productive to do, Søffå begins to caress the hilt of his sword nervously....

...ignoring his friend, Søffå slowly unsheathes his weapon, closely inspecting it for any signs of damage from last night's activities.  He wipes the blade caringly with a soft polishing cloth...

Everyn takes a seat after the failed eavesdropping and pulls out his spell book opening it by the silken page marker and begins reading where he left off.

Not long after the door is thrown open and a dwarf storms out, his black hair and beard braided together and his traveling clothes well worn. Grumbling as he briskly strides across the waiting area to the other door, "Flighty dolts, cannae see dangers unless they be on their doorsteps."

He only then appears to notice you. "Bah to them anyhow. Well met. If yer findin' Troyas donnae have anything worth hearin', yer arms surely be welcome up in Sundabar. We been se...."

"Kallad, I have business with this group. Please feel free to entice the other groups in town.", a distinguished half elf in the doorway says as the Dwarf then storms out of the waiting room with another, "Bah!"

"Well met and welcome, do come in and sit down." he says with a wave and he disappears back into the office. The office is well appoints with enough seating brought in with either chairs of couches enough for each of you to sit comfortably.  Susteen stands nearby and Troyas is seated behind his desk assuming a thoughtful pose with his hands woven and supporting his tired features.

"Direct to the point, I can appreciate that. Rumors of your heroic efforts last night have reached my ears and I felt the need to meet you myself in private. I have been considering something and I wished to speak with you about it." the councilman answers.

No offense to the town guard, but they did not seem up to the task.  The effort was more self preservation than heroic, but call it what you will

"Do not judge them harshly. Warden Orena is not his father and I feel has not done a very good job in rebuilding the Loudwater Patrol since the last war." Troyas laments, "We were not prepared enough for this." he eyes trail off as if in reliving the last night's ordeals and then he refocuses, "This morning, the council met about this past night's disasters, many reports of missing townsfolk have come in. The beasts also broke into the Hall of Great Valor."
