Dunor whirls around a pile of loose belongings on the floor, then darts in at the group. One end of his blade merely jabs into the air in front of the face of one of the Hobgoblins, while he brings the other end into a slash against another adjacent foe.

Tanthalus channels the power of his faith into a flame and hurls it at the nearest foe.  To his enemies its heat is searing but to Dunor it is warming and pleasant.

Gort dodges back from Dunor's stabs but Nes takes Dunor's other blade square in the chest as he follows the canny fighter in. The hobgoblin looks down as the blade slides from his chest and collapses to the stone.

Rkan is engulfed suddenly by a volley of flame from Tanthalus and collapses writhing on the floor in agony.

Bmazk's hand leaves his javelin and instead hefts his spear and moving into the fray stabs the long weapon at Dunor.


Gort retaliates with an arching swing of his flail, but the large human intercepts the attack.


Txeg hacks with his longsword at the fighter hoping to score some easy blows.


Zguk stabs at the occupied warrior but Dunor is able to throw himself out of the way of the attack.


Thespias scurries across the floor in behind Dunor's advance. Seeing a macabre scene near the brazier...a roasting wrack laid to the side and the gnawed bones of humanoids, barely a scrap of flesh left hanging along with several shredded sets of cloths that are barely recognizable as ones your former companions once bore.

The Halfling lies into a rage, and with a scream completes his spell sending a gust of wind that quickly forms a small funnel cloud around Dunor and buffets the nearby enemies with it's power. Gort is thrown from his feet, while the other scramble to remain standing covering themselves well with their shields.

Shandien runs in an arc along the eastern wall, knowingly staying out of his enemies' reach. As he approaches the goblinoids' right flank, Shandien leaps forth and swings his longsword wide, now shimmering golden, engulfing the stricken in ethereal gold wisps of light that rises to form golden sigils above their heads. For the hobgoblin, a larger sigil appears.

Muttering obscenities under his breath in elvish against the sights on his crossbow, Galadren works the levers and winches of his weapon to ready another bolt.  This time the elf's movements are practiced and confident, and it almost looks like he knows what he's doing!  Raising the weapon, Galadren peers at his available targets, and then fires at the hobgoblin in the center of the formation.  As the bolt goes, flicks of ghostly light waft off of the bolt in mid-flight, like a swarm of fireflies rising after sunset.  As the bolt nears its target, the ghostly lights swoop towards the clustered hobgoblins, growing much brighter before winking out of existence, dazzling them.

"Huh.  Well that's new."

The bolt from Galadren's crossbow glances off Zguk's shield protecting Txeg from the missile, the deflected but slices past Bmazk's arm drawing a line of blood.

Zguk pays for protecting his friend with his life, as he is suddenly bathed in a searing beam of starlight that appears to have arced down through the ceiling. Zguk screams at the nightmarish visions Tulugaq's curse imposes as he crumples under the burning radiance, falling silent.

Shadien's magic fails to gain a hold on Txeg, but the larger sigil hangs in the air above Bmazk. He growls at it turning his spear toward the swordmage, poking at the rune to try to make it dissipate.

Dunor takes the opportunity to strike down at his prone opponent, taking advantage of having the upper-hand.  For a brief moment, Dunor sees a man crouching over the Hobgoblin, pointing out where the armor doesn't quite overlap. The northerner's blade drives into that spot, and upon removing the blade, has the other end trained upon his foe should he try to respond in kind.

Wounded, but feeling confident, Dunor moves around the Hobgoblin, weapon ready to strike.

Dunor's blade slips through a chink in Gort's chainmail, injuring the goblin badly, "At, A'gh kaalec rhal maagaan Bmazk!" the hobgoblin shouts as blood pours through the wound.

Suddenly those with keener senses picks up two small twangs. The first takes Thespias completely unaware greatly injuring the Halfling from behind. The small goblin who fired it then slams the door shut with a "HehEHeHEhe!". Another dimunitive bolt strikes Shandien swiftly drawing a small line of blood on the swordmage and the nearby door slams shut with that goblin similarly snickering at their cleverness.

Bmazk leaps back thrusting his longspear at Shandien, but all the poking does is keep the Genasi at bay. "Tuulc oc Gort, maach lhon shalkaan al'duuc." he says.

Gort staggers to his feet and lobs a great swing at the tall warrior in front of him. Dunor intercepts the chain with on blade and strikes out with the other.

A burst of lightning blasts past the pair of hobgoblins and slams into the ceiling.

Gort catches the eye of Tulugaq as the warlock stalks closer. Fearful visions of otherworldly scenes cloud his mind at the glimpses of the far realm are shown through the warlock's curses. Then the brief moment of suffering ends for Gort when a beam of starlight burns a hole through his chest.
"Gort! Ec Rharar!"

Shandien sticks closely to the spear-wielding hobgoblin. He brings his longsword down on Bmazk, but the blade swoops down before reaching its target, seemingly striking the air in front of the goblinoid. A moment later, a shock wave of sound erupts about Bmazk.

Seeing the twin arrows come out of the doorways into his unsuspecting friends, Galadren realizes that he didn't see the attackers.
Simultaneously, he realizes that the attackers didn't see him either - he was still back in the hallway when they fired, and the doors hadn't been open when he took his volley of crossbow bolts.

A cunning smile starting to spread over his face, Galadren approaches the mouth of the hallway, eyes affixed on the western door.  He levels his crossbow at the closed doors.  And then he waits.
