Reusable Potion survey

If potions had unlimited uses, which would you choose?

My ideas so far:

• Remove Curse (750gp)
• Remove Blindness/Deafness (750gp)
• Barkskin +5 (1,200gp)
• Undetectable Alignment (300gp)
• Protection from Evil (50gp)
• Invisibility (300gp)
• Pass without trace (50gp)
• Fist of Stone (50gp)

Note: I'm intentionally NOT using skull talismans of higher level spells. I'm considering a Thunderlance talisman, but that's the upper limit.

Does the Potion Tile trick change the restrictions on which spells can be made into potions?

If not, Fist of Stone is ineligible as it is personal range.

Haste and Gaseous Form as lv1 spells via Trapsmith would be a good plan. The haste would need to be CL 5-10 or so but for a reusable item it's worth it.

Barkskin can be obtained at lv1 via Nentyar Hunter, as can Invisibility via Teflammar Shadowlord.

Lesser Vigor and Lesser Restoration (at lv1 via Paladin) are always handy.

Wieldskill is excellent utility. Guidance of the Avatar is more expensive but even better for single checks.

Heroism is lv2 but it's 10 min/lv and grants you any [fighter] feat.

Skull Talismans of low level spells work for it I believe. (The real issue with skull talismans is that they allow spells from 1-9, and that's WAY too good.)

Haste and Gaseous Form as lv1 spells via Trapsmith would be a good plan. The haste would need to be CL 5-10 or so but for a reusable item it's worth it.

I thought about haste, but the price was prohibitive. As a 1st level version though, I can manage. 1*10*50=500gp

Barkskin can be obtained at lv1 via Nentyar Hunter, as can Invisibility via Teflammar Shadowlord.
Full strength barkskin goes down to 600gp then.

Lesser Vigor and Lesser Restoration (at lv1 via Paladin) are always handy.
50gp for each of them...nice.

Wieldskill is excellent utility. Guidance of the Avatar is more expensive but even better for single checks.
Well, for 50gp why not? Reusable GoTA will get a book thrown at my head, even if it's SirP running things.

Heroism is lv2 but it's 10 min/lv and grants you any [fighter] feat.
300gp for any [fighter] feat I want? Yes please.

Ack, that's Heroics, not Heroism. Heroism is +2 morale on attacks, saves, and skill checks. Heroics is any [fighter] feat. They're both lv2 and 10 min/lv but Heroism is only worth it if you seriously need the bonus and don't have another source of morale bonuses to those stats.

I make that mistake irritatingly often.

Same math though, so no problem there.

1 Dispel Magic vs. Unlimited Detect Magic.

1 Polymorph vs. Unlimited Alter Self.

1 Contact Other Plane vs. Unlimited Tongues.

Its more a plot line problem, than power levels.

So then those will be restricted as well. It's a self-limitation. I don't want SirPercival throwing a book at me.

Yeah, but I'm not comfortable with saying "I have any spell I want at will". That's just too much.

Just comparing the relative power levels.
Unlimited recharge of level 3 spells, while
rather juicy, isn't quite as tasty as good 5s.
(my opinion though)  This is not to say that
having unlimited 3s is a "good" idea.
It might be fun ; it might toast the homegame.

It's SirPercival's "High Arcana", so the CO level is pretty high.

First of all are you really sure that the utterance gives you more to drink? What if it just 'remagicifies' the liquid in your stomach. Actually, I'm going with that interpretation.

Domain Draught. Do 'draughts' count as 'potions'?

I'm so happy. Nytemare you've made my (suspiciously absent) two weeks very worth it understandable. I thought I'd never get my perma-domain (without blowing a all too expensive class level)

The whole thing falls under TO, since it's obviously not the intent of the Rebuild Item utterance, and it depends on using a refluffed potion (potion tiles). If your DM follows the "you can fluff your consumables however you like, and then read a crappy utterance extremely literally to go with it" thinking, then sure.

To be fair he'd have to be using a fairly high level truenamer for this so I don't think any of this would be too bad, and if he fails the check that potion is gone so there's still a risk involved. Not to mention each time he uses the ability it gets harder to do for the next that day. As a DM I'd allow it just to see how it plays out. Especially since it makes every spell a two round action to use.

medium sized frowny face  :(
... because you can't really be too sad for a Truenamer.

Late in the back of the Truenamer section,
it has a short descriptive about Magic Items.
Potions can be made of only the 1st Lexicon
list and of just the 1st and 2nd level "spells"

Using Tiles via CArc as an alt Potion, if it's
gonna otherwise be by the book, is almost
not worth it, playing by the above restriction.
(bizzt) - Hey I've got another +5 to a skill check.
Oh I already called another helpful Efreeti.

Custom Items is the only help for this.

This Monstrosity will be used, which ignores the law of sequence and makes the law of resistance decay out of combat (by burning spellfire levels). It's definitely a step up from a normal truenamer, but it still has the inherent "casting is a skill check" issue.
