You know something's wrong when Ron Paul's positions appear the most sane out of the lot.

Half of Mitt Romney's positions sound pretty sane...

I almost forgot about him and Huntsman.  That's what I get for paying too much attention to the crazies.

My altered statement:

"You know something's wrong when Ron Paul's positions appear sane in comparison to most of the candidates."

Just wait a little while, on either half ...  ;)

I think it's significant that Gingrich is in the running
... even without the Money or the "groundgame"
of Perry, Paul, and Romney.
Huntsman has a little of his own money, but he's at the bottom.

I don't find Pizza quite as yummy as I used to ...  :fu Cain.

So it turns out that Santorum's pro-abortion, but only in regards to his wife.

Edit: Actually, this article says that her procedure may not be an abortion:

http://www.salon.com/2012/01/06/karen_santorum_did_not_have_an_abortion/

I'll reserve judgment for now.

Huh. I'd read about the premature baby they had that they brought home and spent the night with, but I didn't realize it was induced.

I can totally understand the decision to induce to save his wife's life (and with good reason!), but you think that might soften his no, no way, no how approach to the issue, even if just a little.

"it's murder, no matter what the circumstances. Doesn't matter if it's incest, or rape, doesn't matter if the victim is eleven years-old"... unless my wife is dying.

Rick Santorum, meet Special Pleading.

I think this all goes back to that Quasi-Christian Cult that Santorum is a member of.

weenie filtered again, for a few days  :shakefist
[/rant]

iirc - vp Dan Quayle got tripped up about the same
in regards to his teenaged Daughter, but just theoretically.

It's an Orthodox Jewish position allowing for abortion
if the Life of the Mother is at stake. Not Catholic.
But hey, there Santorum was debating Bill O'Reilly
about how often you hafta follow the Pope.

As in: When I want to, Not when you want to.

Oh boy  :pout

I don't think that the Catholic Church is "Quasi-Christian."

Unless he joined some new group.

Oops, I thought he was part of this group: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fellowship_(Christian_organization)

I guess he was just another guy involved in the John Ensign sex thing, as opposed to one of the many people who are part of that organization that tried to get Ensign to stop the affair and settle the whole thing quietly.  If he was a member, however, it would kinda explain the whole his-wife-gets-partial-birth-abortions-but-nobody-else-does.  IIRC, one of their beliefs was reported to be that doing anti-christian things are OK so long as you keep them quiet and don't make a habit of them, and that they don't need to be held accountable for their actions because they're part of some sacred fellowship that answers only to Jesus.

Just watched the Presidential Debate on ABC News.  One thing I noticed that surprised me:

Mitt Romney said that taxes are too high (typical Republican fare), but he said that our society needs a reasonable level of taxes to hold everything together, such as taking care of the old and sick to funding the military.
