So I'm assuming Ron Paul is still in? Any word on whether or not he'll run independent? The last I heard, he wasn't planning on it, but that was well over a month ago.

Who knows?  No one covers Paul.  It's like he's a ghost.  There's a third party forming saying they want a diferent option that may ask Huntsman to be their guy, but they've mentioned approaching Paul too.

Technically Newt + Santorum have "suspended" their campaigns.
So they're kinda still in it.
RP is not suspending -- he's angling for more delegates.
The other guys would get their delegates too.

I think they're playing for the team and they're out of money.
RP is not out of money, and has said he isn't totally on board with the "team".
If Rand Paul is gonna get anywhere long term, he has to playball
... so that's part of RP's staying with the Repubs this go round.

You've gotta think that since this ~revolution IS being televised,

Gingrich has suspended his campaign, yes, but he also said that he will "announce his withdrawal next week".  So this coming week he will officially back out of the race.  Yeah...

Santorum I thought actually did drop out.  Or did he do the same thing?

If I understand it correctly, as long as they're still officially in the race, they can continue to raise money.  Once they officially quit, their legal ways of raising money is sharply curtailed, so they "suspend" instead of quitting.  For some oddball reason that probably makes sense only to politicians, they can have lots of money of their own, but can only use campaign money to pay off campaign debts.  Probably so the people they owe debts to can't come after them, but it hinders the ones who actually want to pay off their debts.

The party orthodoxy doesn't want Paul going off message at the convention so I doubt he'll get anywhere.  I'm fairly certain they'll break any rule necessary to see it happen.

I like to think so, if only in getting others out to the caucus by putting a boot to them over the phone. 

You also may find interesting the following grassroots victories that you probably have not heard about in the news...
To be clear these are percentages of delegates going to the states convention not actual National Delegates as yet.  Of course the majorities will translate into National Delegates

Alaska 66% of the delegates
Colorado 56%
Iowa 50% + more
Minnesota 83%
Missouri 50+%
Washington 50+%

Also projected to win the majority of delegates in, Maine, Nevada and we are doing very well elsewhere.

Even in states that have bound delegates that will have to vote for Mitt and others (at least initially) we are doing very well.  In Massachusetts for example we took 16 of 19 National Delegate slots from district conventions even keeping Mitt's former Lt. governor from being a delegate.  In Oklahoma 9 of the current 16 elected National delegates are RP supporters and this is after opposition pulled major shenanigans.  Enough shenanigans in fact that the State gop is going to have one of the districts redo their convention.   This of course will likely lead to better than 9 of 16

I'm sure that there is more around the nation as we are doing the work to actually try and influence/change the status qou.  Win, loose, or draw the fight is ongoing and differences will be made   Heck, RP people now head the State GOP in Iowa and Alaska now and I'm sure more to follow.

Rand Paul endorsed Romney.  Some Ron Paul
supporters see this as a total sell out by Rand.
I think it might end up being a Good Libertarian Cop,
Bad Libertarian Cop thing between the two of them. 
So the Repub convention gets another wrinkle.

This actually suprised me quite a bit.  I don't see how this is a good move for Rand in any way shape or form.  The republican middle ground isn't gonna like his libertarian views, and he just alienated his libertarian base, since Ron Paul is a champion for them.  It just doesn't make any political sense to me... unless he got paid to do it or something... but again, sellout.
